"Shepard...." I heard a distant voice call out. It sounded unhuman yet unrobotic either.

Goosebumps formed on my skin.

"We have dealt with your father." It sounded close yet far.

"And we're coming for YOU!!"

Blinding light woke me up. I could see shadows moving around me. I was afraid that that thing was still there.

I was on a bed.

"Lieutenant? Can you hear me?" A feminine voice asked

"Where am I?"

I tried to stand up but pain shot through my body starting from my rib cage.

"Just lay down. You broke almost your entire ribcage if not for the cybernetics implanted in you. You'd be a pile of mush."

Now I could see her face now. She had grey hair cut reaching her shoulder, a slim body and a very kind face.

Doctor Chakwas. She should be around the age 75 but she looks around 50.

"Liuetenant, I'm sorry to say this but you're entire squad was killed."
