Ellie's POV
Sometimes it feels like I'm living in a story. A fairytale. But that's only when I'm at my best. I don't really understand what happens in my life but as my mom always used to say to my sister and I "everything happens for a reason."
God my sister. I forgot that I never told you her name. It was Lilia. I really do miss her, she used to tell me that she couldn't live without me. I would always say it back but I guess I was proved wrong because here I am.
Alone.
My mom and I aren't really on speaking terms. I always knew she loved her more but she just wouldn't admit it. Our relationship wasn't that great before Lilia's death but it wasn't bad either. We just didn't talk much. I guess you could say it's gotten worse after everyone processed what had happened she had shut me out and pretended like I wasn't even her child. Everyone would say my sister and I looked alike even though neither of us saw it. Maybe it was just to hard for her to see me. Maybe she saw my sister in me. Maybe she just didn't love me. But I don't want to drown on my feelings, I always think it's better to keep it inside. I don't like talking about my feelings. It's too hard because then I'll breakdown and cry. I'll look stupid and make a fool out of myself.
That's the opposite of who I show myself to be and I don't want that reputation to be ruined. I'm just going to deal with it myself.
Just

Everything
Else.
I started my car and drove around town for a bit. I ended up at Ava's house. I texted her to get her lazy ass out of her house so we could go get some food, which is our usual routine on the weekend. We would hang out and either go to the diner on the corner by her house or get take out. But, she texted me back telling me she wasn't home. That's weird I thought to myself. I texted Aaliyah and Dia too. They told me they were busy. Huh, I really didn't want to hang out with the guys but I ended up texting some of them but their story was the same.
I'm busy, sorry
I drove to the old diner "Frankies" on the corner. When I went inside I saw most of them there, all at a table together. They were smiling, having fun without me.
Oh that's why
Tears welled up in my eyes but I pushed them back. Ava caught me staring and her smile dropped. Just as I turned around I heard "Ellie wait". I kept walking, I got in my car and started it. I saw Noah and Ava at my window knocking quote forcefully might I add. I rolled down my window
"What"
"I'm sorry it-it's just th-that well we think that m-m-maybe"Ava started stuttering like crazy when Noah interrupted her
"We think you just need some time to grieve."
"So you go and make plans with everyone but me?!" I ask angrily
"Yeah but that's only because-"
"Because you didn't want me to ruin your fun. You didn't want the sad girl with the dead sister to ruin your happiness. You didn't want that conversation to come up. Yeah I get it, okay" I roll up my window and dive off leaving the two in the parking lot. I realize that I was being a total bitch but I also had a right to be upset. Why couldn't they just have invited me. God I really need some more friends. I called Ryan asked if he could meet me at the park. He said yeah but asked if nick could come too. I said sure and asked if the two wanted anything from McDonald's. They said yes.
When I got to the park the two were already there sitting where I had first met nick, by the bench. "I brought the food" I had yelled making their heads turn towards me and smile. I sat down to give them what they ordered and we started talking
"You know I was gonna hang out with Ava today."
"Well I'm glad you chose us because I got lunch" nick said and I laughed.
"Sorry to say pretty boy but you weren't my first choice."
"Oh wow how hurtful" he said with a tiny smirk on his face
"Yeah actually, I went to Frankie's after everyone told me they were busy and I saw all of them hanging out together."
"Damn, I'm sorry bubbles, you deserve more than that."
"Thanks Ryan."
"Well look on the bright side if you hung out with them you wouldn't be with us right now. And Ryan would be complaining that he couldn't see his precious princess" nick told me, both of us laughing. Him from thinking of how funny he is and me from being uncomfortable.
"Shut the fuck up nick god. I'm sorry bubbles, just ignore him that's what I've learned to do." Ryan said angrily but there was a small smirk dancing on his face.
"Do you guys want to go somewhere?" I questioned.
"Why not but where do we even go?"
"How about the old arcade that crosses on abbey and queens road?" Nick said
"Sure"
"I'm cool with that"
I got back in my car for the millionth time today and started it. Ryan and nick drove together so I'm meeting them there.
Ryan's POV
Nick and I were in my car and I was letting him drive.
"So, when are you gonna ask her out?" Nick asked
"I'm not gonna ask Ellie out, I don't even like her."
"Yeah and I'm dating Madison beer." Nick retorted
"I'm serious, she's not even my type. Like not even close."
"Maybe that's a good thing. It could be a sign. You know, classic bad boy-"
"I'm not a 'bad boy'" I interrupted
"Yeah yeah whatever, bad boy meets good girl they fall in love and get married. Just like a story."
"I don't live in a story, and she's not a good girl."
"Really, what's bad about her she doesn't even swear. She's smart, funny, pretty she has nice ti-"
"Dude you really need to stop talking sometimes."
"Stop interrupting me, god. Anyways I'm just saying this might be something good for you. You've really only dated girls with no person-wait you don't date them. You just fuck them."
"Well there's no connection so why would I date them if I don't even like them."
"Do you think there's a connection with Ellie."
"Oh my god, no bubbles and I are just friends."
"Yeah, but I haven't seen you this happy since... you know"
"Yeah and that's because bubbles and I are FRIENDS and that's how it's gonna stay. Also I'm pretty sure she likes Alex anyway."
"Oh" was all he said. I'm just glad he shut up. The two of us pulled into the parking lot and saw Ellie's car. I mean it wasn't that hard to miss. It was a dark green 1978 ford fairmont. Old and dirty but still pretty cool. We walked to her car and tapped on her window. She was on TikTok...I'm starting to hate that app. I think she's obsessed with it. But I have about 13k right now which is cool. I just want to win the bet. I'll probably delete the app after I take her on the date.
