Today was the day before the reaping. I don't know if I should be excited or scared. Because today at the training center they will choose who will volunteer. My dad yelled at me from downstairs "HURRY UP, ITS TIME TO GO!"
I sprinted down stairs smiling a very fake smile and walked out the door. I arrived at the training center or as I would like the call it "Hell". The trainers grabbed me by the arm and put me in a line with 50 other girls. Marvel came up behind me and said "may the odds be ever in your favor." I wanted to turn around a punch him right between his two eyes, but I held back. I don't want to admit it, but me and him are best friends. Ugh I hated even saying that. The trainers began calling names to show them there skills. It was Marvels turn. Oh my he looks hot right now. No he doesn't. Well maybe a little bit. UGH. Before I can think of anything else I hear my name being called. I stomp up there and grab the bow. I'm pretty good at shooting it but not as good as others. Some how I hit every arrow in the middle of the bullseye. "WOW!" I hear Marvel day in the distance. I get back in my spot and wait for the rest to be called. After everyone was done the trainers came up to the front with the results. What they said next was supposed to be the best news, but to me it wasn't. I wanted to cry as soon has I heard them say "Glimmer" I smiled and pumped my fists trying to act as excited as possible. But that all changed when I heard the word "Marvel". WHY AM I FEELING SAD. He is supposed to be the boy I hate. I do not like him at all. Ugh, it's no use, I can't even convince myself.
