A small disclaimer going into this: I barely remember writing this story, so I don't remember all of the real messages. Just like you, I'm finding them out myself. Also, I will be talking about mental issues such as Dysphoria and mental abuse. If that makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to read this.

I'm going to jump into the nitty gritty by saying that this was written because I missed writing soon after finishing the first book. I ended it in a way that left it open for a sequel, which was convenient. I made the sequel in 10 days I think? That's astonishing by an author's standards. Even one who just writes fanfiction. Then again, I only write three acts and then I'm done. Now, I bet you weren't expecting the original lore I've placed in this. Yeah, I wasn't really expecting it either. I just wanted to answer a few questions I had about the show's universe. I originally wasn't going to give Clement a background, or even have Clement as a character. I was just going to have Camille, but then I started thinking: "If Toby is gay in this universe, then wouldn't Camille's attempts at seduction be a complete failure?" That very thought is what birthed Clement Beausoliel. I also wasn't intending on giving him a last name. How you pronounce it is (bee-u-so-lie-l). His entire existence was improv with a few French phrases here and there.

I'm going to go in depth with Clement/Camille's character. Starting with the concept, I wanted a character I would be comfortable sexualizing. Why? I used this character as a statement. I'll go more into that when I explain the actual story ark. As we all know, music is a repeating trend in this series and I chose Clement's favorite band to be the Gorillaz. I chose them for the perfect representation for this boy because Gorillaz songs can range from having depressing tones that sound like something you'd want to hear when diddling ensue, to bubbly tones, to calming tones that can make you feel euphoric. I thought all of those vibes matched this character. Plus this band is originally from the UK and since Clement went to a UK school, it would be natural that he'd listen to more UK bands than his native French bands. I researched the songs I had Clement say was his favorites to make sure they matched up with Clement's personal conflicts.

Tomorrow Comes Today means that you'll ignore tomorrow and have your fun today. I tie this song with Clement's desire to carry the baby of Toby, representing the today, but actually wanting to raise the baby and watch it grow is the tomorrow that Clement is ignoring.

El Manana's message is: in order to make something positive, you have to move away from the negative. Sigmund being the negative in Clement's life, and Toby being the positive. It's been stated many times that Toby makes Clement feel welcomed and wanted in the beginning up until he speaks with Sigmund and realizes his motive.

On Melancholy Hill is a look on everything bad about consumerism. Babies are often used in impoverished homes as a way to get financial goods. My 9th grade English teacher really went in on it since she herself grew up in a poor environment. I see that as a bad side of consumerism and Clement's only motive with having a kid is to spite Kyle and hurt him emotionally.

Saturnz Barz is a sad reflection on past mistakes. It sounds resentful during Popcaan's verses, but when it came to 2D's verses, they sound like crying over a beer at a run down bar. I believe that Clement is somehow aware of his situation with Sigmund. He's mad that he stays, but at the same time he destroys his own ego because he thinks that's what he deserves for what he did to Kyle back when Kyle went to school with them, which was being the side fling. He is living in the mistake.

Tranz is about the lead singer destroying himself just to get dopamine. The line: "Do you look like me? Do you burn like me? Do you turn into your effigy?" entails that they aren't themselves and they turn into an 'effigy' to destroy themselves just out of pleasure. Clement himself plays a façade for half of the three acts to gain sexual pleasure, but he doesn't feel like himself since he is a cis male playing a cis female. He experienced Dysphoria while playing the Camille character which is why he tries to get out of it as much as he can.
