Soul eater chapter4: maka's pregnancy part2

Soul scooped Maka who was asleep in his arms and carried her the entire way to Stein and Miss Marie's house.
It may have just been the first day if pregnancy but he could tell things were going to get much worse for Maka. She already seemed extremely tired and couldn't seem to get enough sleep.

When Soul approached the house the lights were turned off. Hoping Stein was home, Soul knocked on the door and the lights flickered on. The door slowly opened. Miss Marie opened the door and greeted him with a smile.

"Hey Soul! What brings you here?" Her eyes look down towards Maka. "Is something the matter with Maka?" She asked worriedly.

"Yes, I need Professor Stein immediately." His eyes were fixed on the inside of the house. He was looking to see if Stein was anywhere in view.

Marie sighed.

"I'm sorry.. But Stein isn't here.. He's still at the academy. I believe he had a meeting with Lord Death."

"Dammit.." Soul mumbled under his breathe.

"Alright, thanks Miss. Marie." He went to turn around and start walking towards the woods. Steins house was out on the outskirts of Death City and was somewhat distant from Soul, Maka, and Crona's apartment.

"Wait!" Miss. Marie called after him. "Keep yourself and Maka safe! I'd hate to see any of you end up hurt!"

"Don't worry." Soul called back before disappearing into the woods. He avoided trees, branches, and bushes. He kept wondering when Maka would awake. Carefully, he laid her down in a soft, fresh patch of grass so he could rest. It wasn't easy carrying Maka around all day even though she wasn't very heavy. He placed a hand on her cheek and smoothed her hair down. Her cheek was somewhat cold so he kept his warm hand there, hoping that it would warm her up.

After about 15 minutes of break, Soul began to feel Maka moving. She slowly lifted her head up and stretched out her arms and legs. When she looked around she saw Soul laying in the grass beside her.

"So, you're finally awake." He says with a small chuckle.

"Yeah.. Why are we out in the woods?" She asked.

Maybe I was dreaming the entire time since she blacked out after running away from Crona on their date. No, that couldn't be it. Then she remembered falling to her knees in the bathroom after reading 'Positive' on the pregnancy test. She gulped and became to blush.

"Soul knows I'm pregnant..? And he's not angry with me?" She thought to herself as she looked at Soul confused.

"I came to take you to Stein's house to see if he could help you." He replied.

"Help me?" She asked.

"Yeah, with the black blooded child growing inside of you." His voice was surprisingly calm.

"So he did know..." She mumbled under her breathe.

"What was that? You need to speak up." He replied slightly irritated.

"Oh.. Right.. It's only the first day.. We don't really need to worry yet... Do we?" She asked.

"I don't know but I'd rather have you safe than sorry." He replied protectively.

"I- I know.. I'm so sorry Soul.. This is my fault.. Crona and I should have waited before we...before we..." She couldn't finish her sentence. Not to Soul, even though he already knew they had sex.

"Before you had sex?" He said finishing for her. "Yah know.. It's strange.. I didn't think Crona could deal with sex."

A tiny laugh escaped his throat.
Maka couldn't help but laugh too.
