Tobias

I wake up to a searing pain in my head. My body ached painfully. It was so bad that I couldn't even move.

I was laying on something soft, covered by what I can only assume is a light blanket. Pillows were stacked behind my head, making my neck cramp. My shoulder and leg throbbed uncomfortably where the wolf bit me.

As I open my eyes, I notice that I couldn't see. There was only black space around me. The realization that I couldn't see makes me jolt upright.

I scream, my breathing picking up as I panic. I hear the faint noise of a door opening over my screams. Hands reach out and grab me, making my cries increase in pitch.

I thrash around, kicking and pushing at anything I came into contact with. I feel a prick from the crook of my elbow, the feeling of an IV being ripped out because of my struggle.

"He's hyperventilating, we need to get Dr. Leanne in here," someone says, holding me down as I continue to sob.

I could barely breathe, my chest heaving as I struggle to take in air. My lungs burned and my throat felt like it was clogged.

I was scared. So afraid. So I did the only thing I could think of doing at that moment.

I called out to my mates.

I screamed out to them as I sobbed hysterically, crying out for them into the darkness. And something that I didn't expect to happen, happens. Harper's voice pierces through my mind, making me sob in relief.

"Toby," he cries out. "Toby! Let me in, you're scaring him!"

"I'm sorry, Luna Harper," another voice says. "You can't come in here. The doctor told us to-,"

"I don't give a fuck what your doctor told you! Let me see my mate!"

I hear protests as the door slams against a wall. Harper snarls and I feel the hands against me disappear.

I whimper as I feel Harper touch my face gently, sliding his hands behind my head. I inhale sharply as my vision returns, Harper holding onto bloodied bandages.

My lips part as I take in Harper's appearance. Sage's description did no justice.

Harper was so thin, his usual chubby limbs were now so small. There was no fat on his body now. There were dark circles under his eyes, showing the lack of sleep. He looked awful.

"Harper," I sob, wrapping my arms around his waist. He pulls me into his arms, jolting as he presses against my bump.

He pulls away, looking down at my baby bump with wide eyes.

"Toby... you're pregnant... is it ours?"

Come to think of it, I didn't know who's baby it was. It might be Harper's baby as much as it might be Kalen's. But I was one hundred percent positive that it was one of their babies, so I nod.

Harper opens his mouth to speak, but Kalen enters the room before he can speak.

Kalen looked angry, his face set into a harsh frown. He approaches the hospital bed, making me flinch.
