Chapter 13 (Karmas Due)

The intruder throws a smoke bomb in the room. Makhail, Mia, and Tariq scramble around the room looking for a safe place to hide. The intruder grabs Mias arm and stamps her then flees out the house. Makhail text Rue.

Makhail: help.

Then passes out. Rue sees the message two hours later and text Rohan.

Rue: Rohan.

Rohan: yea?

Rue: I need you to meet me at the mayors house, I think something happened.

Rohan: okay, I'll be there in a few.

Rue: bring Han with you.

Rohan: okay.

They all head to the mayors house. Rue and Bella arrive after Rohan. Rohan gets out of his car.

Rue: wheres Han?

Rohan: he never answered.

Rue: seriously?

Bella: we have more serious matters.

She goes into the house. Rohan and Rue follow behind her. They see the glass from the backdoor.

Rue: oh my god.

Bella runs to the cupboard and gets the gun Adam left there.

Bella: go upstairs and find them.

Rohan: you sure you want to be down here by yourself?

Bella: yes now go.

Rohan and Rue run upstairs. They go to the room Mia was in and find Makhail, Mia, and Tairq all laid out on the floor.

Rue: Rohan call 911.

Rohan: okay.

The ambulance and the police arrive and interrogate them all. They take Mia and Tairq to the hospital.

Rue: Makhail, what happened?

Makhail: i was talking to Mia and them and we heard someone downstairs, then the broke in the room and everything got foggy after that.

Rohan: i thought you hated Tariq?

Bella: scared of storms.

Makhail: wheres Han?

Rue: he didn't wanna show up.

Bella: maybe somethings going on with him and Howard.

Rohan: he would've came, its something else, he's been acting like a bitch since he came out of the hoispital.

Rue: Rohan.

Makhail: he is right, he's been acting so stuck up and different towards us.

Rohan: lets pay him a visit.

Rue: Makhail, ill drop you off at Leslie's so you can get some rest.

Makhail: i wanted to come.

Rohan: no.

The drive to Leslie's hosue. Leslie comes outside.

Rue: can Makhail stay here for a few, while we go see whats wrong with Han.

Leslie: uhh yea, if he's watching himself, cause im coming.

Rue: what, Makhail can't go.
