Just a little more than friends

"will you marry me?"

Kay and Ben woke up at 6.45am, they went to eat breakfast together. "What did you want to say to me last night?" Kay asked. "Um- I-..nothing important." Ben said and began to get nervous. "Ben please tell me, I wanna know." Kay said and took Ben's hand. "You can tell me anything." She said. "Okay then.. I just wanted to ask what do you think about our relationship? Are we doing good and do you think we should.. maybe get engaged?" Ben said. He could feel all butterflies in his stomach, he was so nervous. "En-engaged? Oh, well that happened quickly.." Kay said, she was very surprised because she didn't think Ben would say anything like that.
"If you don't want to it's totally fine!! I just... Kay, I love you so much. Every time I see you I can feel the butterflies in my tummy and I just start smiling, I can't help it. You're the most wonderful woman I've ever met. You're my everything." Ben said and smiled gently. "Oh Ben, I love you too. Well okay, we can get engaged. It's okay." Kay said with a smile on her face.
8.30am
"Ben we're going to be late!! Hurry up." Kay shouted from downstairs.
"I'm coming!" Ben answered.
Ben and Kay drove to the office and walked into the elevator, yes, to the elevator they got stuck in. "See you at 5pm?" Ben asked. "Yep, see you then. I love you." Kay replied and kissed Ben.
Ben and Kay walked out of the elevator with smiles on their faces.
During the day Ben called Lally and asked what she thinks about getting engaged.
"I think it's an amazing idea, mom seems to be so happy with you." Lally said.
5pm
"Hey darling, how was your day?" Ben asked Kay while they were driving home.
"It was good, yours?" Kay replied.
"Mine was good too. How about we go walk on the beach and watch the sunset tonight?" Ben asked. "Sounds perfect!!" Kay said and smiled.
Kay and Ben got home and ate dinner. "I'm going to take a nap, when are we going to the beach?" Kay asked.
"The sun will go down at 9 so we probably should go there at 8.30pm. It's 6.25pm now. I have to go to the mall quick, I'll come back soon." Ben said. "Oh okay. Bye, drive safe!" Kay answered.
Ben left the house and Kay took a nap.
"Honey, I'm home!" Ben shouted as he opened the door. Kay didn't answer because she was sleeping. Ben went to wake Kay up and she changed her clothes. Kay put on a white blouse and light brown trousers, her favorite outfit.
Kay and Ben drove to the beach, the sun was going down slowly. They walked on the beach and held hands. The sun went down but the sky was filled with beautiful colors, pink, light orange and purple.
Kay and Ben watched the waves, Ben kept his hand on Kay's back and Kay leaned her head on Ben's chest.
Suddenly Ben took his hand off from Kay's back, put his knee down and took Kay's hand.
"Katherine, I love you. You make my days brighter, my life more exciting and my heart beat faster. So.. Katherine Graham, will you marry me?"
"Oh Ben, yes! Yes! I will marry you." Kay answered, eyes full of tears of joy.
Ben put the ring on Kay's finger and Kay put the ring on Ben's finger, Ben got up and kissed Kay. "Kay, I love you so much." Ben said. "Oh honey I love you too." Kay said, tears falling out from her eyes. Kay was the happiest she'd ever been.
As Kay and Ben hugged they suddenly heard a cheering from a distance.
