I grinned at both Mara and Mesmer. They stood there unsure what that means. It was the last hope I possess to defeat the Doppelganger. The crest bearers each bear the strength of the magic I do with the elements. The reason to fight stood for something even with the threat of loss. I needed a reminder of why I was doing this. Thanks to Mara, I found that reason again. "I began to believe the world was crying out to me for peace. Ravela waited eons for me, but he was not the only one waiting. My friends are not the type of people to be beaten by a bunch of people who blind themselves to the truth. It started with a rebellion in Erstonia and it will end with peace no matter the cost."
"Kid, the crest bearers don't possess that kind of power. They haven't united for a long time."
I smiled big. "Now that I am here, they possess power like never before. My guess is Ravela is trying to separate me from them because he knows that. They have a bond to me that will not break. You heard Zelme, so you think the rest will not be the same?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ravela, Zazi, and Gavin walking into the courtyard. Perfect timing, Old Crow. Now, let us see who the mad one is for the last time.
"Kid, you cannot be serious. I don't know what fight you were witnessing but they were losing." Mesmer countered.
"You do not know them." I strode up to him. "They will not let anything get in their way, not anymore. I push them away, they come running to me. Believe in my words, the only side I am on is theirs because they see the Old Crow for what he is." I placed a hand on Mesmer's shoulder. "Thanks for healing me but you need to wake up to the fear."
The Old Crow and his two escorts noted my mood change. They saw me pull away from Mesmer.
It was not time to mourn for something that has yet to come. I know Simon and the others will save me when I fall.
"You seem in a better mood," Zazi noted. "What were you throwing a tantrum earlier?"
I shook my head. "That was a fit of frustration because if it were a tantrum I would have done more damage to my surroundings. I forgot the most important rule."
"Oh, this will be good. Your mood is an upgrade from the wounded beast act from earlier. Like you have rules." Zazi commented.
I calmed my breathing and summoned ice to form into a blade. It fit perfectly in my hand. "I have morals, but the biggest rule came from the person who first defended me with his blade. The one I called a hero even when he irritated me with his flawless swordsmanship." I stepped toward Ravela. "He would say it often if not every time I fell. Fight like hell." I drove the blade into the soil and ice covered the ground of the courtyard. They were all frozen in place. "He possessed no magic but watching him win all the time made me realize I pale in comparison. His blade was natural to his hands and yet, he's dead."
Ravela broke out of the ice trapping his feet. "I thought you disliked him but yet you praise him. That fool died and he will not save you again."
I smirked back and gripped the hilt. "He did save me the way a big brother does for his younger sibling. He did not possess magic, but I did. From the day, I was born I knew I was not like other kids. I broke a bully's arm without lifting a finger, so what do you think happens when I get worked up and lose all sense of rationality?"
"Highness, if this is a form of intimidation, you may want to stop it now. It does not work on me." Ravela stared at the ice blade. "You adapt and evolve rather quickly to new abilities, but they are far from effective to harming me."
