I sat grinning happily at nearly killing him with that attempt. Rigid walls all around me and chained to the ground without magic, I could still put up a battle. I behave when I feel like it and never upon a scum's request.

Mesmer had not stopped scowling at me, but I could not pass up such an opportunity. "You don't care, is that what you think is going to win this? Did you forget what I said that there are certain lives that have to remain in this world?"

I scoffed at him. "Right, but have you ever heard a tale about the man who tried to play god and a beast killed him in the end? He wants to play on my turf then he should know better than to aggravate me."

Ravela finally locked eyes with me as he rubbed his throat, but red marks remained on his neck. "You brat, you knew that would not end me. Without your powers you would never lay a hand on me, if you knew your place." His face flushed red.

I leaned forward resting my tied hands on my lap. "You're a coward hiding behind magic like a shield for what you do." I hardened my gaze on him. "There does not need to be magic to kill you off. How does your neck feel, monster because its going to get worse the more you provoke me?"

Ravela made a hard swallow while I grinned.

"I will do anything to kill you for good that includes becoming a monster myself." I yawned and slouched back into the throne. "So be careful of who you target, coward, I have enough strength and will in my body to take you down."

Mesmer softened his expression, but he turned his attention to Ravela who began to fume. He stormed up to me and stopped at the low-rise dais. Ravela had his teeth grit while I stared at him idly. "You have some guts for someone who is in no position to threaten me while you are chained up here."

I smiled like a kid and stretched out my legs. "Oh, these. They are good if you are trying to contain a magical beast, but I could find my way out of them if I felt like it. I am simply tired of your grating voice, so refrain from disturbing my dreams." I returned my legs to the ground.

"You won't get any rest when I am through with you."

Mesmer stared at me like I would try to continue what I started. Instead of answering with a threat, I smirked. "Whatever you want, coward, but do not forget what I said. I have no intent on showing you mercy after all you have done, so run along before I decide to continue strangling you."

With that said, Ravela retreated from the throne. He strode for the door out of here and scowled over his shoulder. "Just you wait, little wolf, because we will see how long you can stomach the deaths of those you love."

"I cannot see how anyone could love someone like you." I said and his shoulders tensed. "That wife of yours must have been important to you otherwise you would not be so spiteful. If she could see you, I think she would cry and thrash some sense into that head of yours. But what would a kid like me know about love since he might die before that happens?"

Ravela's eyes shifted to Mesmer. "Keep him out of my hair or I will pummel that brat's face in."

"Hey, since you are leaving be careful. It's a dangerous world out there, especially since wars are busting out everywhere."

Ravela sneered as he huffed and disappeared from my sight.

"He's so fun to torment, poor coward." I smiled and relaxed my body. "Too bad, I wanted to go another round with him."

Mesmer sighed and then frowned. "Do you always need to do that, even now?"

I fiddled with the rope still unable to wear it down at all. "He can go burn in the underworld because he has a zero chance of taking me down. He picked this fight and so did you." I stared at him assessing his posture. He stood more like a king than Ravela could. "You want out you might want to let me out of here because I have every intention of taking you down with your puppet."
