Getting the Job

It was now morning when the alarm in the motel room went off at 9:30 am. I tried to feel for my phone in the bed not able to find it. I sat up and looked around the room not able to find it anywhere. I searched and searched and it was no where to be seen. I then realized it was probably at Ms. Venable's house, or her car. So using the phone in the motel room I called a cab to pick me up. I got ready still making sure I looked nice and headed over to her house. I knocked and no answer. I knocked a second time and still no answer, but the door cracked open. I bit my lip nervously and entered the home looking around for the phone. I looked on the couch and under it and lifting the cushions as well but no sign of it. Then I realized that maybe she put it in her room. I walked upstairs looking through every door trying to find a bedroom, but no luck until I opened a purple door. I peaked inside to see that it was not an ordinary room. It was a play room. I looked around and tried to find my phone, but no such luck. I went downstairs and looked around, but still nothing. Then I heard light footsteps and a cane that hit the floor with every other step. My heart pounded and I had no idea what to do or where to go. I panicked and then bolted out the door as the steps became louder. I ran down the street like my life depended on it, and in that moment it did.

A few hours later I got a ride to Kineros, once I arrived I had walked right up to the second floor passed security to her office. I knocked lightly then heard a faint voice come from behind the glass door telling me to come in. "Ms. Garnet.. what are you doing here?" She said a bit shocked to see me.

"I forgot my phone, I didn't know if you had it with you or not.."

"Oh no I don't have it.. I left it at home, but it is okay because I am off work in a hour so then I can take you there and get it."

"Okay yeah I can wait.."

I sat in her office for what felt like forever but in reality was only and hour. After she was done we headed down and straight to her car. I got in buckling up, on the way there it was filled with more awkward silence. Then I had remembered the room I had seen in her house. Just thinking about such things I had to cross my legs tight otherwise I would be a wet mess. I looked out the window and waited until we had arrived. Once we did we both had walked inside and I sat down on the couch while she grabbed my phone from her drawer and handed it to me.

"Oh gosh thank you.."  I smiled softly and looked over to her once she sat next to me. I bit my lip, but her absent words make me worry some. Then that is when it happened, she leaned close and kissed me. Instantly I melted in her touch kissing her back. Once we pulled away when the need for air was to unbearable to ignore I  looked at her and kissed her cheek smiling. I then got up and headed out the door.

"Oh and Ms. Garnet.. you got the job.."

Hearing those words I got more excited then I should have had gotten. I nodded my head and smiled then left calling another taxi for a ride to the motel. Once I had gotten there I went to my room ordering food, and thought about the events that had played out eairler in Venable's house, on her couch. I smiled at the thought and just layed there until my food had finally come. I ordered a salad and some juice, eating a little bit at a time I smiled and looked through the television, then through my messages. After eating some food I layed down and looked up at the ceiling and slowly drifted off to a deep sleep.
