Obito and Rin forever

Chapter 12

There were a lot of enemies surrounding the travelers. Kakashi stopped an enemy attack from behind with his wall, while Obito attacked out front. After he finished his Fire jutsu, which blown some enemies away from the battle, he immediately proceeds to attack with his kunai. Three enemies were standing on trees, above the battle, therefore Rin started to throw kunais in their direction, she successfully hit two enemies and they fell down, screaming in pain, however the third thug managed to dodge and flee from the battle. Team Gai, were standing, facing opposite from the client and on each side, they were doing well; punching away the thugs and not letting thugs close to the client. The client was surprisingly calm, he was squinting, observing all the thugs surrounding him. After fifteen minutes, all enemies were down, suffering from cuts and bruises. Kakashi and Rin apprehended the thugs with the tight rope. 

Rin: Seems that's all of them! Phew! It was a hard fight, but we did well. 

Kakashi: Don't get too relaxed, there could be another wave, so don't let your guard down.

Rin nodded and continued to tie the thugs down. 

Kakashi: Hmm... It seems none of them were shinobies, just thugs with weapons. Probably they were guarding this perimeter, so the Team Gai's Client wouldn't get into the village, however, they did not expect us do be with Gai's team. 

Obito: Anyways, we have to be on the look out from now on. There could be another ambush if we make another step forward. 

Kakashi: Something actually smart coming from you. I did not expect you to be careful, because you were always carefree on the missions and jumped into battles without prior strategy. 

Obito: Hey! People change you know! I am not that kid anymore! 

Rin: Again with the fighting? (Sigh) I can't believe you guys, still fight over past mistakes. 

Team Gai were standing near them with the client, who was sitting on the ground, patiently waiting and drinking water from his flask. Gai approached the Jonin Team. 

Gai: Hey Kakashi! After this mission we will need to do a race! The first one who is back to Konoha will win! 

Obito: Seriously Gai!? You are thinking of a challenge now, in the situation we are in!? There are people who want us to get killed! 

Gai: Well I thought it would be nice to have another competition with Kakashi! You never get bored while competing with the infamous white fang's son.

A girl got close to Obito, and covered her mouth with her hand, so the sound waves wouldn't pass in front. 

? Girl: (whisper) Just ignore our leader, sir. He is always like that. I just got used to it. 

Rock Lee: Tenten or Neji we need to make a race too! It will help us to get stronger in this period of our youth! 

Tenten: Hell no! 

Neji: I'll decline. 

Rock Lee's mood dropped and sobbed a little. 

Gai: Don't worry Lee, you will find your rival to compete, since your youth has only begun!

Rock Lee: Gai sensei! 

Rock Lee burst into tears while Tenten and Obito were flustered.

Rin: Oh! Listen people! One of the thugs managed to escape.

Neji: That could be a problem. He will inform the other thugs of our presence. 

Obito: Dammit, we will have to be extra careful! If those thugs were from the syndicate that Minato sensei was talking about, I bet they have more stronger people in their organization! Those were only pawns. 

Kakashi: Well I have a plan, pretty simple. Gai your team will take another route to the village, while our team will take the heat, continuing with this path that we took from the start. It would be more effective this way. Here...

Kakashi gave Gai a map to the village. 

Kakashi: ...this map should help you.  

Gai took the map and put into his back pocket. The client stopped drinking his water and stood up from the ground.

The Client: Then we should not waste time and get going. I wish good luck for your team.

Rin: Thank you, sir!

Team Gai  and the client turn right and disappeared from the view of Jonins. Kakashi started reading his book.

Obito: Well, guess we have to head to our destination too. Man, seems like our mission objective changed. Minato sensei just told us to scout, but now we are just tanking... Are you even listening to me Kakashi!? 

Kakashi closed his book and put it away in his back pocket, then proceeded to stare into space, with his hand on his chin. 

Kakashi: Hmm, there is something wrong...How did those thugs know that team Gai will come to the village. Did the client know that it will happen this way? If he does, then this not a genin mission. This is a B or A rank mission for Chunins and Jonins. This mission is too dangerous for team Gai. 

Rin: I agree. Those kids are not prepared enough for this kind of missions. 

Obito: We will have to do our best! To minimize casualties! Let's go guys! 

Rin: But what should we do with those thugs that are tight down? 

Kakashi: Don't worry about them, most of the are unconscious and weak to get up, plus they are tied up. I am confident that they would not escape that easily. Our main priority is to be a decoy, so team Gai could safely arrive to the village. Let's go, there is no time to waste.

Rin and Obito: Got it!

The three Jonins decided to jump on the trees to faster travel to their destination. 

Obito: And I thought this would be a nice time to spend with Rin. (sigh) Guess it will have to wait...
