Daniel. I need something to get my mind off Aria.
I grab my phone off the counter and start typing in Daniel's number, but am rudely interrupted when Hope snatches the phone out of my grasp.
"Hey! I was using that," I groan.
She rolls her eyes and looks back at the screen. "Who were you-" she stops when she reads it.
"How do you know Daniel?" she asks.
"How do you know Daniel?" I retort. "And give me back my phone please," I say, reaching for it.
She lifts it out of my reach and I sigh, collapsing back into the couch. I'm way taller than her and can easily get my phone back, but decide to wait. Let's see what she wants.
She sits beside me and thinks for a while.
"I won't," she says, "unless you tell me what you have to do with Daniel."
"I can't."
She threw her hands in the air. "Why not?"
"I haven't even told Aria. Why would I tell you?" I say, then gasp. "I'm-I'm sorry. I didn't-"
She stops me and stands up. "Didn't mean that? Yeah. I've heard that before."
She walks out my house, but stops, and sees a box outside. "Someone left you a gift."
She kicks it inside and slams the door.
I groan and cover my face. "I'm so stupid."
Suddenly, I bolt off the couch. "She has my phone! Now I'm never getting it back."
Sighing, I walk back to my room and into my bed. Getting some actual sleep might help clear my head.

-Aria-
I'm glad Daniel didn't knock on the door. I don't know what I would've done if he did.
Probably take the car and leave. I'd come back for him later. . .
"You okay?" Daniel asks, giving me a side glance, thoroughly snapping me out of my reverie.
"Uh, yeah. I'm fine," I reply, looking out the window.
"Sure you are."
We drive another couple miles, close to home, when Daniel pulls over at my favorite restaurant.
"What are we doing here?" I ask.
Daniel smiles. "I'm hungry. Aren't you?"
I scoff. "I stuffed myself with donuts less than 30 minutes ago. Of course I'm not hungry."
His expression changes for a split second, then he breaks eye contact, staring at the dashboard. "Fine. Let's go home." He reaches over to start the car and I stop him.
I sigh. "Look, I'm sorry. I'm really am. I did-"
Didn't mean to. No.
No, no, no.
What did I do?
My eyes grow wide as reality comes crashing. "Oh god. What did I do?"
Daniel's expression saddens when he looks back up at me. "What?" W-What's wrong?"
I rake my hands through my hair and wince. Luke does that a lot.
I take as shaky breath. "How do you fix something you never meant to do?"
