When Roman Winston was 6, he went to see the circus for the first and only time. Back then, he still had his younger brother Remus, who was 4 at the time. The two brothers fell in love with the circus. They loved everything from the wild beasts to the clowns. Roman was especially excited and amazed by the sword swallower and knife throwing acts. Every year, the circus would come to town and every year Roman and Remus would beg to go again and every year their parents would refuse. "The circus is full of bad, evil people." Their parents said. This didn't stop Remus running away from home when he was 14 to join the circus. After that, Roman wasn't allowed near a circus tent for fear that he would do the same. But one day, he snuck away from his house and crept into the circus to watch the acts for free. He loved everything about the circus. The circus felt like his life, sometimes. So Roman thought, why not make it his life? Why not run away and join the circus just like Remus did? After the circus had finished performing, Roman went around back to talk to the ringmaster. This is that story. This is the story of how Roman Winston joined the circus and fell in love with one last thing to do with the circus.
