THREE YEARS LATER
Carters first day of high school. His birthday is in a few weeks. I have to drop them both off in about 20 minutes. I was getting Janelle dressed. She wouldn't keep still. "Mommy" she gave me a kiss and ran to the door. Carter walked through. "Ma I'm ready when you are" Aw he looked so handsome looking like his dad. With a flannel open with some jeans and boots. He was holding Janelle . "where's my dad?" He asked.
"Follow me" We went to my room. Amir was laying on the bed knocked out. "Here's your lazy ass dad in the morning then when you come home he's gonna be in his little area working his ass off" He started laughing. I was standing over him. He pulled me down.
"Your gonna talk about me while I'm sleeping?"
"We have to go..." I climbed off of him.
"Ew Momma" I started laughing . I jumped up and put my shoes on. I got my bag. "We leaving right"
"Yeah" we went to the car. I got it at the beginning of the summer. Carter got in the front. I buckled Janelle in. She starting to look like Carter. Amir came out went to my side. "We have to go its his first day"
"I love you"
"I love you too now back up" He gave me a kiss and walked back to the house. I backed up I drove to the school first. It's a 20 minute drive then Janelle is 10.
"Alright momma 3 come get me"
"Gotchu love you my beautiful Freshman" He started laughing.
"Love you too ma" He walked into the school I was about to cry. I drove off Janelle was talking in the back. The phone in the the car started ringing I answered.
"Hello"
"Hey Brooklyn" I was on the highway. Trying to get Janelle to daycare.
"Hey Amir have you gotten dressed?" I asked because when I get home we have to leave. Have a meeting to go too.
"Yes have you dropped Janelle off yet?"
"I'm pulling up right now.."
"Alright I'll talk to you later love you"
"Love you too" he hung up. I went to get Janelle out.
"Mommy can I have this?"
"Nope you can't when you get married you can have one.."
"Ok" She was still sleepy. I knocked on the door. Angela opened it smiling.
"Hi come on in" I put Janelle down in the playroom all the kids were. "How you doing Brooklyn?"
"I'm good and you?"
"The sam" one of the kids was running with baby food and got it all on my leg while I was talking. Do you understand how mad I was. I didn't let it show but I wiped some of it off kissed Janelle goodbye and left. Went all the way back home.
"What happened to you?"
"Baby food" I was about to go upstairs until he stopped me. "What is it?"
"Slow down Brooklyn slow Down" he picked me up and carried me upstairs. "Relax I have never seen you like this. He sat me on the bed went into the bathroom. I took my shoes off heard water running. Amir came back "stand up for me babe" I did he pulled my shirt off and my pants. Stripped down to nothing. "No talking about Carter and No talking about Janelle do you understand?"
"There my babies Amir just like you are" He walked me to the bathroom. I got in yeast on the edge on the other side.
"Umhm Alexis is coming to see us for a few weeks." I'm so happy she's coming I've missed her I haven't seen her in a year.
"I'm so excited I missed my best friend."
"My best friend always with me helped me get you"
"Your best friend was ready this morning get in" He got undressed and got in.

We're on the highway the meeting starts at 12. Amir driving like a crazy person. Carter was texting me. "Your son just said he found the love of his life"
"It takes longer than one day" We were laughing we pulled up to the building I was looking threw my bag. The door opened. "Let's go Brooklyn" I smiled and jumped out.i took his hand and went inside got on the elevator this guy was in there
"You guys must be Amir and Brooklyn?"
"Yep" Amir said looking down at me.
"Well I'll see you in the meeting"
During the meeting this guy was staring me down. I was kind of caught off guard. Amir was talking presenting to us. "What do yall think?"
"Love it we're on board. Now we will get back together on Monday to sign paperwork." He was so excited. He came and sat in front of me. It was time to leave I was half way to the car.
"Shit I have to go back" I went back on the elevator I forgot my papers.when I got up there the guy was there sitting there looking through papers. "Hi"
"Hi you know your beautiful right?"
"Thank you"
"Do you hear that a lot?"
"My husband tells me that everyday." He sighed, started laughing.
"Well I'm gonna tell you everyday when you start working here" I got my papers put them in my bag. "Trust me"
