Arthur's return

Bookstore

Hey so I added the song that merlin sings during this part in case you didn't already know the song :)

It was the next morning, Merlin and Arthur woke up in each other's arms once again.
"Oh morning Arthur, sorry I must have fallen asleep during the movie" merlin blushed slowly moving out of Arthur's hold "it's quite all right merlin, I also must have fallen asleep" Arthur nervously rubs the back of his neck knowing full well he didn't but chose to stay with merlin instead.

"Arthur!" Merlin yelled from the kitchen whilst Arthur was getting changed, "what do you want clot-pole?!" Arthur yelled back but then walked into the kitchen to find merlin making his second cup of coffee. "I was thinking that because I have to go to work today you would like to come with me and work there so you don't have to sit around here all day whilst I'm gone, also it will help show you the rest of the new things" merlin said then sat on the kitchen counter with his legs hanging off the side sipping his coffee, "oh ok, I will tag along but if you think I'm doing any work you are thinking wrong, I was a king and I will not work" Arthur says with a huff and crossed his arms in front of his chest "hahah ok I won't make you work but you might need to help out with some things- as a friend not as a worker, happy?" Merlin laughed out knowing his stubborn king won't be willing to work, "hmph ok then"

Merlin searched in his pocket for his bookstores keys so he could open up, it was stormy so Arthur covered them both with an umbrella whilst merlin was opening the door, they walked in and merlin walked over to turn the lights on. Arthur wondered around looking at the shelves and shelves of books, new and old books and he assumed merlin had collected them all throughout the years.
Merlin had explained to Arthur that because it's stormy outside and most people won't be traveling just for a book it will be quiet, because of this merlin decided to re-organise the book shelves, whilst doing this he was singing 'human' by Jon Bellion, Arthur had never seen merlin properly sing before, he had seen him whistle and hum when he was doing chores but never sing. He stood leaning with his hip against the end of a bookshelf staring at merlin. He was mesmerised by his voice, unable to look away, he thought that his voice was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard.
Merlin was in his element, he loved singing but he rarely did it, however when his favourite song 'human' played he couldn't resist it, he loved this song because he always related to it. "I got no nuts to tell the one that I love, that he's the reason I wrote this song" merlin felt a tear burning his left eye but never fell, he always changed one of the lyrics, he changed the 'she's' to 'he's', he always felt it fit to his story better if he changed it to he, Merlin wouldn't have changed it if Arthur knew this song but thankfully he didn't because he didn't even have a phone yet.
After the song ended he turn around to see Arthur staring at him, mouth slightly hanging open, "what are you staring at dollophead?" Merlin laughed out "o..oh u..um what? I wasn't staring!" Arthur defended "hmm ok whatever you say" merlin wasn't convinced but decided to drop it because he didn't want to get his hopes up that his friend was actually staring at him.
"Arthur I'm going to call you a taxi because I have to stay behind for a bit, I will tell him where to go and I will give him the money before hand" merlin explained "ok but why do you have to stay behind?" Arthur asked whilst turning to pick up his coat " um I just have to finish up on some orders" merlin nervously looked down hoping Arthur won't catch on that he is lying.
Once Arthur had left in the taxi he locked up the bookstore, he lied to Arthur because he had planned to buy Arthur a phone as a surprise.
