JACK'S JUSTICE

Chapter 2

Maya felt relaxed by the buzzing sound of the elevator.
It took quite a while to get to the 4th floor. She was a bit nervous.

When the thought of how she planned to expresss herself on her first day crossed her mind, her heartbeat increased as though she was frightened.

The elevator stopped, she closed her eyes a bit, breath in deeply and gave a deep sigh.

She located Room 01.
"Board Room" was inscripted boldly on the silvery aluminum double doors, with each word on a different part of the door.

She pushed the "open" button and the doors rolled away oppositely.

Maya walked in majestically feeling a bit embarrassed at the sound of her footsteps.

Her grey suit was perfect. She fastened only a button on the blazer exposing her blue vest. She made a pencil bun backwards this time almost forming a ponytail.

Mild makeup as always and perfect black italian high-heeled shoes Jack gave her as a gift on her last birthday.

"Good morning esteemed board members!" Maya resisted a quiver in her voice.

"Good morning, how do you do?" A clear sharp voice responded.

"How do you do" Maya replied as she walked towards Mr Watanabe Sato to shake his hand.

The board members are a discreet group of seven persons.

The second to seventh member represents the six sub-industries of Talltab Industries.

The board room is fairly large, the end of the room opposite the door is filled with a long massive curved table.
The table looked like the half part of a Tetradecagon.

The lighting system was perfect; partially concealed fluorescent bulbs fitted at regular intervals of a grey ceiling.

Two Air conditioners on opposite sides of the room; one above the board leader and the other above the door.

To her right were photos of the country's president, the governor of Postville and The CEO of Talltab Industries; Prof. Jon Kubo.
A Japanese remarkable man who seldom visited Postville to oversee Talltab Industries.

He entrusted the business to his board leader; Mr Watanabe Sato a fellow Japanese.

Mr Sato was diligent and honest in the services rendered and received by the Industry and always loved diligent employees. Of course Prof. Kubo could entrust Sato.

He was already impressed by Maya's manner of approach and the sense of professionalism in her speech.

"Good to meet you, Maya" Mr Sato said releasing the handshake.

"The pleasure is mine". Maya took her handbag to her right hand and moved backwards a bit to get a better view of the board members.

"Please introduce yourself to the board members". Mr Sato beckoned.

"Okay... My name is Maya Frayke".

A board member who sat at the last seat towards Mr Sato's left who seemed to be very serious in his paperwork paused, lifted his head and gave Maya a stern look.

Maya was caught up in his gaze and quickly looked away, she felt a bit impressed at his blue eyes.

Mr Sato gave the first board member to his right a signal to introduce himself likewise the rest.

"I'm Sasha Pavluchenko, director of rubber/textile factory"

"I'm Elena Blasi, director of garment factory"
