Chapter 7

Emily's POV

School seemed to pass quickly. All my lessons went well, but I didn't try to make friends, I was too awkward for that.

But one thought remained in my head for the whole day. Jai Brooks.

My heart hurt everytime I remembered what happened this morning. I got home as quick as I can. My mom wasn't home and so I went up to my bedroom and slammed the door.

I slid down it as I finally let the tears fall. What was wrong with me? It's not like we knew eachother that well. I should've expected this. After all, nothing this good could ever last for me.

I dragged myself to my bathroom and locked the door. I opened up the drawer beneath the sink and picked up a blade.

I sat on the floor and pulled up my sleeve, placing the cold hard blade on my pale skin.

I swiped it across making multiple lines on my skin. A red liquid started oozing out of each cut as I winced in pain.

I put the blade back in my drawer and stood up. I turned on the shower and removed all my clothes. I stepped into the shower, under the water.

I screamed out a little bit when my skin made contact with the hot water. I refused to move out of the way though because I deserved this didn't i?

After a few minutes I shut off the water when I noticed the blood stopped coming out.

I grabbed a fresh towel and got out a fresh set of clothes. I grabbed my uniform to check for any blood stains. There were none that I could see and so I took it back into my room and folded then, ready for tomorrow.

I hid my cuts as best as I could before going downstairs. I went to the kitchen and saw a note on the table from my mom.

Hey I won't be home until 11 because of work and stuff so I told Gina you would be coming round for dinner if that's ok. It will only be you because your brother will be at football tryouts till 7.
Love mom x

I felt my heart shatter knowing I would have to face Jai again. Why did I have to go? Couldn't I just stay home?

I debated whether I should actually go or not. I mean, it was only Jai I was avoiding. Maybe I didn't even need to face him. There was always still Luke and Beau. Maybe Luke was the same but I doubt Beau was, seeing as he didn't even go to Penola anymore.

I managed to convince myself that everything would be ok. I checked the time. It was 6:30 now. I had half an hour to brave myself to face Jai again.

It was simple, I just won't speak to him or acknowledge him.

I went upstairs to get changed and put some makeup on. I was done and just in time when I left the house and knocked on their house.

To my dispair, it was Jai who answered the door.

"Hey," He gave me a sad smile.

I didn't reply and just stood there looking down.

"EMILY!" I heard Beau shout.

Thank god. Beau had come to my rescue and had pulled me inside. I winced as he had put his hands around my cuts.

"What's wrong?" He asked

"Oh er nothing," I said, but he still didn't look convinced as he looked down at my wrists.

This time, it was Gina who came to my rescue.

"Hi Emily, guessing you got the note your mom left you?" She said, giving me a hug.

I felt Beau's hand leave my arm.

When Gina let go of me and walked back to the kitchen, I looked at Beau and he gave me a sad look.

"Hey Emily!" I heard Luke shout from the living room.

"Come on," Beau said, taking my hand and leading me into the living room.

This is a short chapter because i actually wrote this like 2 years ago?? I haven't updated in a while but i logged back into this account to see how my fanfics were doing and loads of people wanted me to update so im just gonna upload this for now and if you want me to keep writing it i may do although i'll be quite busy this year with exams but if you guys want it i'll try my best !
