Evie
Evie couldn't believe she'd lied.
She face palmed as soon as she arrived home, looking out the window at her fully functioning car, which started perfectly might she add. She groaned, you just had to lie didn't you! She chided herself, couldn't have just invited him for lunch! She sighed falling onto her couch scoffing before grabbing her phone and googling ways to sabotage a car— so she didn't look like a total idiot when Skull arrived. She could just text him and cancel but she didn't want too— she wanted to see him again and the lie was an excuse, she could use this to her advantage somehow.
Evie poked her head out front to make sure none of her neighbors were outside before she made her way to her car popping the hood. She took her scissors out of her pocket before cutting the wire the online mechanic instructed her to before she ran back into her house. She sighed, glad it was over before she started on lunch, as she cooked she hummed silently reaching for her phone that she'd just texted Skull her address on. He was still available at half past one so Evie did have some time to kill.
Quickly she swept around her living area and made sure everything was spick and span before she wondered into her bathroom for a shower and changed into a plain white t-shirt that she tucked into her high waisted shorts, tying her hair into a bun that sat on top her head just as she heard two knocks to her door. She beamed before making her way to the front of the house before peeping through the peeping hole to make sure Skull stood outside her door.
At seeing his large rugged figure Evie gently opened her door smiling, "Hey,"
Skull nodded, "Hey,"
"You're right on time," Evie hummed, checking her phone.
"Is that the car out front?" He asked, getting straight to the point.
Evie hummed, "Yup,"
Skull nodded, "Let me get my tools from my truck and I'll be right back,"
She nodded watching as he came back around walking towards her car; she followed him towards it just as he turned towards her, "Do you have the keys?" He asked.
Evie nodded digging into her pocket before handing it over into his calloused hand which she gently brushed with her soft fingertips. Skull seemed to notice as he visibly tensed before taking the keys and opening the car door, "You said it's not starting right?"
Evie hummed in acknowledgement.
"Do you know what could be wrong?" She asked.
"Could be a number of things..." he trailed off as he walked towards the hood of the car popping it open.
Evie came around standing beside him as he eyes drifted to the cord she'd cut, her heart beating a mile minute as Skull stood silently observing the car before walking back around to the drivers seat and and inserting the key and turning it. Evie held her breath as the ignition sputtered and coughed making Skull lift a brow and Evie heave a heavy sigh, thank god she cut the right wire—
"Oh that is a problem," Skull muttered.
He approached the hood of the car again before trialing his fingers over the metal contraptions before he grazed the cut cord, "Yup, this is what's wrong,"
