WYSIWYM estas an acronym that stands for What you see estas what you mean. This estis positioned to ne esti confused with WYSIWYG (what you see estas what you get). La idea behind WYSIWYG estas to display text on screen en much la same way as they will appear when printed on paper. WYSIWYM estas different from this: La content estas structured. When la content estas entered, this meaning estas added to la text. This will mean ke presentation estas separated from la content. La content estas translated before ĝi estas rendered. This also means, ke ĝi can esti translated differently, la same content can lead to different output formats. More importantly though, la person editing la document can focus on la content, kaj ne estas easily distracted by what la content looks like. One of la drawbacks of la method, estas, ke la user estas forced to think ahead. LaTeX estas an example of a document processing system that uses WYSIWYM.
