I woke up by the sun that was shining brightly... I looked at my hands and saw the jacket still there. I closed my eyes feeling relieved that it wasn't only a dream. I got up and went downstairs to eat breakfast. There was no one in the kitchen, except of a note saying:
"Dear, if you read this note, then it seems you woke up! Haha!
Your dad and I went to a job interview and we got Trista with us.
Eat your breakfast and don't even think of skipping school! I will
check you if I get suspicious...
Love, Mom"
I rolled my eyes and continued on getting something random to eat for breakfast.
When I finished I went upstairs to get ready. I was feeling a bit tired, so I took some pair of jeans and one one-sleeved T-shirt that had as a logo "Summer time love forever!" and got into my bathroom to fix my hair and put some make-up on. As I was ready to leave my room, I saw Ray's jacket and run to take it, so I could give it back to him at school. When the thought of school came up to me I froze... How could I give him the jacket? He was too shy and if I went to hand it to him, his friends would start to tease him and ask questions...
I took the jack with me and hid it in my bag. I run downstairs and went to take the buss.When I got off I saw Stacie and Alex waiting for me and I went to them. Stacie was wearing some bright orange converse, with ripped loose dark blue jeans and one baggy shirt, with many logos on it. Alex in the other hand was wearing some leggings, ballet shoes and a bright pink t-shirt. "Hey, 'sup?" I smiled "Hey, nothing much. How about you?" "Bah... Bored as usual... Today we have break dancing lessons..." "That's really cool! I dance really horribly..." They laughed and glanced behind me. I turned to look what they were looking at and I saw Ray turning quickly his face away and he blushed... I blushed too and started thinking of a way to give him his jacket back.
At the lunch break Stacie and Alex took me to the cafeteria to eat together. There I saw him again. He was glancing but always turning away, maybe thinking I didn't see him. I went and bought some lasania from the school cafeteria and sat down to eat. Stacie and Alex started talking about their break dancing lessons. Once in a while I was looking at his way, starring him having fan... Stacie clapped infront of me "Hey! Where are your eyes wondering? Is there something going on?" I blushed. "It's nothing. I will go outside a bit to take some fresh air..." Stacie looked at me and Alex smiled. I took my bag with me and went outside.
When I got outside I sat down on a bench and looked at the river next to me... I sighed deeply, wondering why do my feelings get so much stirred up.
A hand broke my thoughts and I looked up to see Ray standing there smiling. "Hey..." he sat next to me and blushed."Hey. I brought the jacket but I didn't know how to give it back to you..." he smiled and nodded "You could just come up to me and say <<Here's your jacket>>... Not so difficult." He smiled and I got a bit angry. "Well I didn't give it to you like you said, because I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable with your friends..." I stood up and let the jacket next to him and left. He started to run to catch up with me."Hey wait! I didn't say something bad..." I kept walking "Sorry if I did though..." I just ignored him and went for my other classes.
When the classes ended I went home. My parents were back. My mom was watching some kind of comedy and my dad was reading his usual book. Trista came down and hugged me and my parents greeted me. I told them I was tired and I went to my room. "Lilian are you okay?" my mom came up to me and checked if I had a fever. I pulled back "Mom stop worrying so much! I'm okay! I just want to stay alone tonight. I won't eat with you..." I run upstairs and Tris kept looking at me, feeling confused. I went to do my homework, but my mind was to messed up, so I decided to go to my usual place... My secret bench. I locked the door of my bedroom and left from the window since i didn't want my parents to be nosy. I run to the bench and there I had a surprise.
There was Rey sitting on the bench covered with a big blanket. I went next to him and sat down. "I am sorry for today Rey..." I said and looked down. He smiled and hugged me while he was blushing covering me with the blanket. "I knew you will come here... I came here waiting for the mermaid to appear... Though she surprised me, because she came on foot and not like I would always find her in the sea..." He looked at me in the eyes and blushed.. I looked away feeling uncomfortable. "W-w-what mermaid are you talking about? Did you hit your head?" he giggled and looked at the stars "I am talking about the mermaid I captured with this bracelet..." I sighed and closed my eyes, while leaning my head on his shoulder... "The moon is beautiful tonight as well" I told him and smiled.
