Trapped

Chapter 1

3rd P.O.V
"It'll be fine love we'll take a quick shower and then meet each other right after. Okay?" Emilie shakes her head at him and continue to protest.
"No we won't" She whispers.
"Yes we will" He said back to her
"No we won't. Newt we can't trust them" Emilie finally say to him but he just looks more concerned at her.
"Yes we can they've done so much for us already we will be just fine" Emilie wanted to run away and take Newt and all of her friends with her. She didn't know how but she just knew that this place isn't safe, she knew that Janson was lying to them and she knew that he's somehow involved in all of this. She wanted to run away from this place but knew that it would all be pointless since there is no way out. So She gave Newt one last tight hug knowing that this is most likely the last time shell ever see him again.
"Promise me you'll be careful" She says as She bury her face into his chest.
"Don't worry I promise" He says as he hugs her back. When they pull away he places both his hands on her cheeks and makes her look up at him.
"I also promise that we will see each other again" Emilie does everything she can to hold back her tears and instead take off her necklace that's been tucked underneath her shirt.
"Then please hold on to this for me" She gestures her necklace towards him.
"Emilie..." He was about to protest but Emilie stopped him before he could.
"Please it will make me feel better and you can give it back as soon as we see each other again"  With this he sighs but gently smiles at her and takes the necklace and puts it on.
"I love you" Emilie says for the final time.
"I love you too" He says back and kisses her forehead.

There was a soft and warm feeling on his lips for a split second he thought that it was Emilie. For a split second he thought that she somehow appeared right in front of him. But he quickly realized that he isn't in the glade with her but instead in this cruel reality. Its been over a year since they escaped and destroyed WICKED. Newt quickly pulled away from the kiss and looks at the girl not knowing what to say or do.
"I'm sorry... you seemed to have been day dreaming and I thought I would bring you back to reality with a kiss" The girl says as she becomes bright red.
      Newt wasn't mad at her he was mad at himself because of how he isn't able to move on. Here is this sweet and cute girl who very clearly likes him but can't recuperate her feelings because he still misses a girl who he hasn't seen for over a year. Heck he didn't even know if she was still alive and even and if she was alive by some miracle how could he face her. He abandoned her and left her to suffer a most likely cruel and painful faith, he didn't even deserve to think about her.
"I'm sorry but maybe it's best if we stop seeing each other" Once he says this the girl quickly starts to apologizing.
"I'm sorry if the kiss was too soon for you I didn't think-"
"It's nothing that you did I just have my own issues that I need to sort out first" Newt explains cutting her off mid sentence. The girl clearly looked upset of the outcome of this relationship but she didn't push it anymore.
"Come on let's go back to camp" Newt says as he gets up from the beach and starts walking ahead of her. Once he drops her off at her tent he heads back towards his where he meets his friends laughing and talking. Once they see their friend come in they stop what they're doing and look at him expectingly but Newt stays quiet.
"So.... how did it go?" Frypan finally asks Newt as he sat down.
"Bloody terrible" He answers with clear frustration.
"What happened?" Brenda asks confused since she was sure that the girl she set him up with really liked Newt.
"She... kissed me..." Newt said looking down at the floor clearly upset.
"Oh you poor thing?" Minho said in a sarcastic tone.
"Newt I know you haven't been on a lot of dates but getting kissed on the first date is actually a good thing" Minho continues.
"You don't get it when she kissed me all I could think about was Emilie... and for a split second I thought it was Emilie" Newt yelled at Minho as he got up defensively.
"Newt it's been over a year Emilie is probably..." Thomas tried to reason with Newt but couldn't bare to bring himself to finish his sentence.
"I know..." Newt said in a quivering voice but he still continues.
"I know that she's probably gone but I can't shake this feeling that she's still alive that she's still out there somewhere waiting for me" As Newt says this his friends can't help but look among each other concerned over their friend.
"Guys... I know... I know it's sounds bloody insane.... but until I know that she's gone for good I won't be able to move on" No one else knew what to say and with this Newt left to clear out his anger and frustration.
     As Newt is walking along the beach he sees the berg in a distance and at that moment he knew exactly what he had to do. He waited for everyone at camp to fall asleep and quickly snuck back to his tent and packed a bag of food and water along with a handgun and rifle. He quickly makes his way to the berg but as soon as he gets there he sees Thomas, Minho, Brenda, Jorge, Frypan, and Gally already there.
"Guys-" Newt was about to start explaining himself but Minho cut him off.
"Took you long enough we were about to leave without you" He says as he takes Newts stuff and takes it up the berg.
"You didn't think I'd let you take my baby now would you" Jorge said in a joking matter.
"What are you guys doing here?" Newt finally asks in disbelief.
"What do you think we're doing? We're going to bring Emilie back" Thomas answered as he started getting on the berg.
"What?! No I can't let you guys risk your lives again! This is my problem and it's my fault Emilie is gone so I should be the one to fix it!!!" Newt argued with his friends.
"Newt... it's not just your fault we all left Emilie behind..." Minho said in a more serious tone.
"We all feel awful for leaving her behind. She was a really good friend of ours we trusted her we relied on her and when the time came that she needed us we abandoned her. The least we can do is go back and look for her. Now stop arguing with us and get on so we can start looking"Minho said and without any further protest Newt got on the berg and they quickly headed back to where they last saw her.
