The Balcony

It was after dinner, Charlotte had just finished settling the kids in bed for the night and finally had time to think back on her first day. Looking out to the soft glow from the pools low lighting and landscaped lawns below she breathed out a heavy breath. She'd loved every minute of it but couldn't deny the temptation she felt to lean into Nick in the family room scared her. She shouldn't be so attracted to a married man, let alone her boss, it could only lead to trouble.

"What're you thinking so hard on?" Cole stepped out onto the balcony from his room, looking curiously at her as he plopped down in on the outdoor sofa seat next to her. "Oh nothing much, just reflecting on today" Charlotte replied. He pulled a couple glasses and a bottle of wine out from under his arm and offered a glass to her. "Perfect, thank you" Charlotte smiled warmly at him as she accepted the glass, glad of the distraction.

Cole poured them each a large glass of red and sat forward, leaning his arms on his knees, glass casually pinched between two fingers swirling the wine and left ignored as he looked at her again. "So, first impressions?" he questioned.

Charlotte shook her head clear of thoughts she should definitely not share with Cole and considered her response "the children are adorable and so well behaved which will make my life easier, the house is stunning and I can't believe I'm getting paid to live in here, and you're not so bad to live with so far either" she grinned at him as he laughed at her final comment. "Not so bad eh? I'll have to work harder then!" Cole shot his trademark grin at Charlotte and she fought a blush.

The rest of the evening sped by as Cole and Charlotte talked about everything and nothing. Cole explained the dancing banana PJs were a joke gift from his college friends that had grown on him, "they're just so comfy!" He defended. Charlotte confessed to her first crush being on the cartoon fox from Robin Hood several glasses of wine in and Cole pretended to act shocked until he admitted to his childhood interest in Jessica Rabbit. All in all an enjoyable evening.

They were still laughing and talking at 1am and neither showed signs of slowing "So what brought you into this job?" Charlotte asked as a second bottle of wine appeared out of Cole's room. "Well.. I finished college and had no idea what I wanted to do next" he shrugged "and a job with free accommodation and travel included seemed a good a place as any to start." He smiled slowly as he looked over the pool at nothing in particular "I love to cook and here I have access to whatever I ask for to experiment, it's a good gig".

Charlotte was impressed to hear the passion coming through in his voice and found herself surprised at how attractive a quality it was. Slowly taking in his intense eyes, strong jaw and full lips as if for the first time, Charlotte noticed her face heat and sought out a distraction.

Picking up her newly filled glass of wine, Charlotte took a sip, she couldn't help but let out a small moan at the taste "damn Cole, this is good, where did you get this?" she was met with silence and looked over to find Cole staring at her wide eyed. "What's wrong?" She asked, he shook his head slightly and swallowed "uh, nothing, you just.." he coughed nervously "nothing, it's the from the boss' store, I pick out the wines for them and in return they let me take one a week, tonight's pick is one of my favourites" . He took a sip of his wine and smiled.

"Well that must be the best job perk I've ever heard" Charlotte grinned at him and lifted her glass to her lips again to take another sip "mmmm" she breathed, closing her eyes slightly as she savoured the taste. As she opened her eyes again she saw Cole shifting in his seat and suddenly she realised her reaction to the wine was causing Cole to have a little reaction of his own, which was becoming visible through his jeans.. little was the wrong word to describe what she could see and as she looked up at a slightly red faced Cole an idea came to her to test his reaction, this could be fun.

Emboldened by the wine and his reaction she moved in slightly under the guise of pouring them both another glass and felt Cole breathe her in deeply as she did so. Placing her hand lightly on his thigh to 'steady herself' as she poured his glass she looked him in the eye and smiled a little watching his pupils dilate and feeling his thigh clench under her touch.

This was not usual for Charlotte and she had no idea what spurred it on, the near miss with Nick earlier had clearly affected her more than she realised. Confused and unsure of her behaviour, suddenly she felt guilty for tempting Cole. Charlotte removed her hand, set the wine back down and made a move to lean back on her seat. As she moved back a strong arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back towards him "Oh no you don't" Cole whispered in her ear "get back over here".

Charlotte was pulled flush with Cole's chest, she could feel it's rise and fall as he nudged her head up to meet his intense gaze his eyes searched out consent before bringing his lips to hers. She melted against him and into the slow, unrelenting kiss. One of Cole's hands moved down to the small of her back bringing her impossibly closer to him, making them both groan at the close contact and the other hand was gripped tight onto her waist. Cole lightly bit Charlotte's lower lip demanding access which she willing granted as the kiss grew hotter, more intense.

Another moan of approval slipped from Charlotte spurring Cole on to lean back, lips still locked, and pull her on top of him. Charlotte moved to straddle Cole, guided by the strong hand on her lower back, until she was right where she wanted to be, she could feel his length through her jeans and the friction was enough to draw a low groan from Cole. He pulled back from the kiss "fuck, that feels so good gorgeous" he threw his head back and suddenly thrust up, moving his hips to deliver a delicious pressure to her clit as he resumed kissing her.

A bang of a closing door below startled them and pulled them apart, suddenly realising they were still on the balcony. The cool air surrounded Charlotte and brought her to her senses, what was she doing? On her first night here? "Are you ok?" Cole questioned, concerned, chest still rapidly rising and falling as he recovered from their brief encounter. Reaching for her hand he drew small circles in her palm and sat up, Charlotte relaxed and brought her forehead to his "I'm sorry I let things go further than I'd like, can we leave this for tonight please?" Charlotte asked, although if he said no it's not like she would've continued. "Of course" Cole smiled and pecked her cheek "I've had such a great evening with you I'm just happy we got to spend some time together" she breathed a sigh of relief. "See you for yoga in the morning?" She questioned as she got up to go to her room "You bet" Cole replied and smiled to himself as he walked back to his room with the remaining wine.
