I yanked Sam up by his shoulders, shaking him when his eyes rolled back in his head and a pained moan left his mouth.
"Sam. come on kid wake up." I groaned, slapping his cheek a little bit, just enough to hopefully wake him up some more. He groaned again, but his eyes blinked open and after a few more seconds he was awake.
"Wha...?" He started but I cut him off, shaking him a little bit more to get his gaze focused on me.
"Come on Sammy. I need your help. So wipe that shit off your face and get your ass up." He looked super confused before raising his hand up to his face and feeling the dried blood that was caked on his face. His confusion turned to despair and I watched as his entire face fell as he realized what happened.
"Come on Sam. It's not your fault. Now get up and help me fix this." He nodded and stood up, using the bottom of his shirt to wipe off his face as he did so. When we were both up on our feet I turned to look at everyone else. Daryl was working on Cas, getting him to stop eating the possum and start acting normal again. But everyone else was still doing the same as before.
"So what happened?" Sam asked, looking around at everyone with a mixture of disgust and pity. I sighed, and turned away from watching Daryl's ass as he bent over Cas (which was something I had been struggling to stop doing for the past few days) and turned to look at my brother.
"It's the Horsemen." His eyes snapped down to meet mine, a grim look on his face.
"You mean, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse?" I nodded.
"Yeah. I think War started the zombies, he's the first horseman in the Bible, and with the zombies he made basically the entire world start fighting against each other. And then it's famine, I think that's what's happening now, everyone is giving into their instincts, doing what they are starving for." Sam nodded and looked around again.
"So where's Dean, Glenn and Maggie?" I shrugged, joining him in looking around at everyone.
"Don't know. Daryl and I just got back and they were gone."
"Okay, so you got a plan?" I shook my head, watching as Daryl snatched the possum out of Cas's hands and launched the thing into the woods. Cas stared at it for a moment and then disappeared, reappearing a moment later in the same spot, with the possum back in his hands. Daryl threw his hands in the air, and I could kind of hear him yelling from across the field, before his arm flied out, yanked the possum away again and threw it into the fire.
"Alright well we need Bobby... that's probably a good place to start right?" Sam asked, and I nodded, ripping my eyes away from the hot man that was dealing with the crazy angel and looked to the car where Bobby and Carol were still going at it.
"Yeah, sounds good. Let's get him."
A/N: Jesus guys I'm so sorry. I really tried to get something written down but I am struggling super hard with writer's block. I'm going to try to write something for each of the my published books before I have to go back to work, but we'll see. I'm trying to push through, and hopefully the next chapter will be longer.
