Chapter Six

I was in the car with my family. My Dad is driving the car while Mom is in the front seat. Kuya James was sitting next to me on the back. I smiled as I look out the window, it's just a normal Sunday morning and we're heading to the church to attend the mass. I am wearing a simple white off-shoulder dress paired with black belt and stilettos.

Meanwhile, my seatbelt suddenly slid off. "What the hell?" I muttered to myself as I clicked it back.

Now, I was standing on a concrete. Natulala ako matapos makita ang daan, it's like I am in the middle of nowhere. The trees disappeared and the bright sky darkened. Nakita ko ang tuloy tuloy na pag-andar ng aming sasakyan, I even saw Kuya staring out the back window at me.

"Wait, hunong!" I cried.

But the car didn't stop.

Panting and gasping for air, I sat up straight in my bed with a thick beads of sweat covering my body and tears running down my cheeks. This isn't my room, is it? As I turned on the lamp shade, reality hits me, this is my room in Tita Emma's house.

I suddenly remember my dream, a nightmare rather. I changed into my usual workout clothes — a sports bra paired with black leggings and running shoes. It's one of my daily habits way back in Davao, ngayon ko lang ulit magagawa dahil hindi ko pa naman kabisado dito. But I need to run to get away from everything even just for a while.

"You want to run?" he asked.

"Uh... yes, kuya. Balak ko talagang mag jog ngayon. Ikaw rin?"

"Yup, so.. do you want to run with me?"

"Sure, kuya. I don't mind."

"I'm sorry for what've happened to you these past few days," ani Kuya Owen habang naglalakad kami.

"It's okay, kuya. "Calvin did apologized, though."

"They will surely accept you, soon. It's just a matter of time."

I went to the kitchen to get some breakfast before anyone else woke up. I am just avoiding another disaster, although tito and tita were finally here, I couldn't say that they will stop their never ending pranks. Pero hindi talaga siguro nakapanig sa akin ang tadhana dahil nakita ko si Tita Emma do'n, sipping on her cup of coffee.
