"It was just not me. No matter how much I wished for it to be..."

I was back home. I was on the beach by my home. I glance back one last time at the ocean. My father waves to me. I wave back knowing he was fine. Knowing I would see him any time I wanted. I smile having some pride to know I was a sea princess.

I had a family. I was not the same girl I once was before. I rush back to my home. Eager to hug my mother and tell her how much I missed her. I knew she was worried about me.

I had so much to tell her about my life. I get home and no one was home. I glance around. I head upstairs to her room where she normally was at reading.

Her light was on. It looked like she had not been home in days. Food had been sitting out on the counter in the kitchen. I begin to feel worried about where she was at.

I play her answering machine.

"To anyone wondering.... this is the hospital"

I listen to the message. My mother had a minor heart scare. They thought she had a heart attack. But she had not. She was recovering at the hospital. She had a weakened heart.

And she was in poor health. It was a good thing I came back home. I had to call my siblings later and inform them. I grab my car keys and then rush to the car. To head to the hospital.

"Elissa!"

I stop in my heels.

"What are you doing here?" I demand to know. I turn around to find Kavan there in human form.

"We need to talk" he begins. "I followed you. Your father knows why he allowed for me to come"

"I do not have time for this or for you!" I snap. "my mother is ill. The only mother I ever knew. I left her and now she is suffering" I panic. What kind of daughter was I?
