Rantaro stared at the hydraulic press in front of them. The sickening metallic smell of blood filled his head. Suddenly, he felt the atmosphere become heavy and dark. Someone was dead. But that wasn't the surprising part.
Rantaro didn't know WHO was dead.
Normally, immediately after someone died, he would get notified who it was and who the blackened was. It was a perk in being the mastermind. But, he didn't even know who was under that press.
But, he had a pretty good guess.
Considering everyone was here, it was obviously Kokichi or Kaito. They were the only ones who weren't present.
Wait... so, there's a possibility that Kokichi is dead...? Rantaro gagged. He didn't even want to think about that. Hold on.... why not? It's not like he cared about Kokichi! Right?
Suddenly his mind darted back to all the memories he had with Kokichi. Then, his mind darted to the closet. He remembered how close their faces were. He should have felt like punching Kokichi, but... He felt something different. Something he... never really felt thoroughly. Now you just expect him to accept Kokichi might be dead?! Of course he should! This is a killing game, for Christ's sake! But.... It's Kokichi! So fucking what?
Rantaro's head spun faster than ever, all while a clip played over the monitor.
"A body has been discovered! Now then, after a certain amount of time, the class trial will begin! You may spend this time however you like, but use it wisely!"
Rantaro was tempted to punch the monitor screen. Although that bear was everything to his show, he wanted to burn it. He never wanted to hear it's voice again. Something in him triggered. He didn't know why or how, but he just felt this boiling feeling in him. Was it despair? No... all the times he's felt despair, it was different. What he felt was... worse? And it should have excited him. He felt something worse than despair! That's something to celebrate! But, he couldn't. He felt... broken. Like he couldn't be excited. What happened to him?
But suddenly, a small bear appeared. The one Rantaro knew all too well. "Well! What a doozie! It seems like someone had died! What a shame. And especially after you all got so worked up on ending this! Guess that goes to show that you can't end this!" Shuichi stepped forward. "What do you want." He said, sternly. Monokuma laughed. "Y'know, the important thing: the Monokuma File!" He cheered, pulling a Monopad out. Shuichi took it, turning it on. His eyes skimmed over the screen, his brows furrowing. "What's it say?" Maki asked, taking it from him. "It's useless. It doesn't even say who the victim was. It only states what we already know." Maki handed it back to him, only to have him tuck it in his pocket.
