By the time i'm dressed and packed, the house is filled with noise, there's running and throwing and doors slamming. I adjust the simple black shorts and blue tank top i threw on before grabbing my bag and walking into the chaos.

Mike grins when he spots me from his place on the couch, man spreading. I roll my eyes "good morning mike-" Before i can even take another step towards him i'm spun around and greeted with a kiss "morning beautiful" nathan whispers, smiling at me cheekily. I smile "morning" we just stare at each other until everyone starts gagging "get a room!" Mon yells.

"This is our apartment, you guys get a room!" Nathan laughs, stalking off to the kitchen to load the cooler with drinks.

As he does this my gaze lingers on his broad back, his tattoos on full display with the low-cut baggy shirt he's wearing paired with black shorts and.. loafers?

I burst out laughing at the sight of him in birkenstocks, he glances over his shoulder and cracks a smile at me "what's so funny?"

I point at his choice of footwear "really? Birkenstocks?" He chuckles "hey, we all have flaws"

Gen grimaces as she walks into the kitchen to hand him more drinks "i don't, i'm flawless" he rolls his eyes. "As flawless as that pretty pink swan costume with the purple pom-poms you danced in for our primary talent contest?" Her eyes widen "i-i don't know what you're talking about" he avoids both mine and nathan's amused grins, walking around the island she reaches for a glass "oh i'm sure you do remember 'itsy bitsy spider' in the swan costume, come one give us a remake" I tease, making her flash the bird at me as she gulps down her water.

Nathan looks between us, holding back a laugh. "You can laugh, she won't do anything" i say, but gen is quick to respond "do it nathaniel i fucking dare you, i'll castrate you!"

Nathan feignes fear "oh no! Not my manhood!" He laughs. Gen glares at him, storming off with a huff "immature swines" and we laugh harder.

After we load the cars, everyone starts piling in. Monica gets stuck in a car with mike whilst nate, stephen, gen and i fit comfortably in stephens 4×4. The designates drivers exchange whatever information they need to get there before we head out.

"How long is the drive again?" I question as nathan throws his arm around me, getting comfortable. "About an hour or so?" Gen answers, looking at stephen for confirmation who nods, his full focus on the road.

We all take turns with the aux, singing along to the music playing. "Hey its my turn!" I frown at nathan who grabs the aux from gen before i do. He smiles "i have a song i really want to play" i huff "fine, but i get your turn" He nods "Promise"

I can't help the smile that spreads across my lips as he plays a cheesy ed sheeran song because he knows i like him. 'Perfect' starts playing and we all chime in.

His eyes never leaves me as he whispers the lyrics "Cause darling you look perfect... tonight" my heart stutters in my chest in response, his beautiful green eyes glimmer in the sunlight coming in through the windows. I find myself breathless, feeling the need to savour his breathtaking features.

"If you two are done, could you please pass the aux here?" Gen grumbles, grabbing the aux instead of waiting for a response.

Nathan and i grin at each other before cozying up together. The rest of the ride consist of non-stop bickering between nate and gen and stephen laughing so hard he nearly ran over a pedestrian.

When we finally arrive at the beach we park right beside mike's car and hop out just as they do, except we all come out laughing at stephen poking fun at high school nate, whilst Mon and Mike come out with scowls on their faces.
