the heartbroken moon

you and i
are two moons
alone in the dark
comfort found at night
among each other
you are in love with a sun
i cannot provide the light
the sun exudes so easily
but for someone to be there on your brighter days
it ought to be a sun
my heart aches
i wish to be a sun
to shine so brightly for you
but i am not a sun
and i learned that the moon
doesn't need another moon
the moon needs a sun
