the making of art

my thoughts are telling me that
the only way
i make art is to
write poem and
illustrate those red-dotted socks and
that kinda stuff

but
what i didn't realize is
that i make art every day

with the way i talk and
the diary filled with secrets and love and
flowers i collect to tape them on my wall and
how i think about things and
even the way i make my coffee

art is so much more than creating something
