A lair underneath the kitchen? Genius! Summer and I were titillating, looking, gawking at Emily.

We walked down the stairs, the fear of spiders instilled in our minds as we fought the tenacious will to scream in excitement.

The walk down the stairs seemed forever, the darkness engulfed any architecture and the constant fear of Arachnids were factors in why the trip to the lower level felt so long. All three of us were quiet, listening to our own thoughts.

I'm just glad I wasn't claustrophobic.

I was astounded by the shear design of this underground lair. The way it was decorated with the modern requirements of this day and age, it really represented what our minds where capable of.

No one would suspect such a thing and this underground home was incredible. The leather sofa looked soft, directed towards the 32" plasma. There was a bathroom and a bed room with a kingsized bed.

The chandeliers loomed above, giving a yellow-ish tint to the living room. This place revealed a level of genius that I wasn't even aware of. Who knew she was this rich? She did seem to have a high intellect but none of these underground folks would even be aware of it.

"How could you-"

"My husband made this place. It's amazing, that man was the world to me. He was so intelligent, I just wish this place wasn't here, I wish it was over the ground and in a peaceful neighborhood. But that's what money did, it gave the fortunate power while the strong people are forced to struggle in poverty." Emily sighed, looked down and a smile crept up her face.

She struggled to smile. Just like how she was struggling in this place, alone and scared.

Enough of the sympathy talk I thought to myself.

"How can you support such a place? It would take a lot of money. Think about it, the filtering network set up around the corners of each room to stop sewer intoxications from spreading around the room would cost ALOT of money. Plus, supporting lower ground systems to stop the house becoming incapacitated by solid ground to make this place submerge like a boat; another huge investment. Extra extensions of water pipes and Internet networks, antenna high voltage reception. A lot of money again. I know I sound reluctant in believing that you are not as poor as you seem." I emphasized, pointing at objects that I indicated. I glanced at Summer, she rolled her eyes and mouthing 'nerd'. I smirked back.

"Are you insinuating that I have a secondary source of money. You couldn't tell by the clothes that I am a farmer? I'm no ordinary farmer Jake, I farm drug sources like marijuana. This is a lot of money and all the engineering of this house was created by George." She snapped back, I just pursed my lips.

"George?"

"My husband?" She questioned back rhetorically.

Oh yeah, the husband that I let down. I grabbed my neck nervously, this grudge will never end. I looked at Summer who folded her arms quietly. It really was a sore subject.

I sat down on the sofa, feeling the comfort as I curled my arm around Summer. We turned on the tv, nothing but geographic documentaries. I was slightly disappointed, but I didn't mind too much.

"So, what do you two love birds really want? Saw the news today morning and Jake you didn't fix much of your reputation did you?" She asked. I grimaced at the mention of the media and my escape from the cops.

I gulped. "We actually need your help at the moment. We need a place to stay, just for a little while. I know it's a big favor but..." Summer trailed off while Emily glanced at me for a few seconds.

"Sure it's the least I could do for my little sister. As for Jake, you gotta stick with sleeping on the sofa for tonight." She answered leaning on the sofa nearby.

"This sofa is so damn soft, I wouldn't mind one single bit. Thanks." I smiled at her, I was relieved that she wouldn't be so touchy on the whole vendetta thing.

"We're like one awesome team of badasses!" Summer announced chuckling.
