Chapter 3

We had reached the Citadel by the time I had woken up. As expected, doctors had rushed into the ship's med bay to take Nihlus to the hospital to better treat his wounds.

Hopefully with better medical attention provided to him he would recover faster.

With a sigh I combed my hand through my short (h/c) hair. Today was a long day, the last thing I need is the council complaining about the mission being a failure. 'Well I should take an aspirin to soothe my headache. God knows how long the council will talk.' I thought while walking to the med bay to get the medicine.

" (y/n) , the captain is asking you to  accompany him and the commander to the council. He says you can help in providing proof of Saren's interference. " Joker said into my ear piece. I sighed one last time before I had to put on a show for those ridiculous shitty people.

" Alright Jeff, tell the Captain I'll meet him outside in a few minutes." I said into my ear piece. I quickly took the aspirin tablet and prayed silently that the council will not be a pain.

Time skip

There they go again, blabbering about how precious their time is and how the current investigation with Saren's betrayal is still underway. Regardless I don't know what's worse, having to listen to the continuation of the council brag and banter after we visit them in real life or having Udina here with us.

"God, what did I do to deserve this. I should be checking on Nihlus right now." I said in a whisper. Shepard nodded to my words, she knew my hatred for these people very clearly.

My attention was brought back to the room when the turian councillor wanted me to report to his office on the matter. "Yes sir. I'll be there in a few minutes." I said with respect since I really did not want to piss him off.

With that the call was cut and I was finally free to go visit the councillor. Before I left I heard Udina complain about Shepard and the captain being responsible for the mission faliure.

I was pissed off, how dare he disrespect them. It wasn't there fault. "Hey Udina. I'd be careful with my words, the last thing you need right now is a pissed off soilder that no rules can control. Got it?" I said with a sadistic smile. It was enough to shut Udina's trap.

" I'm heading out, Shepard. If you need me, I'll be withing radio contact. See yah." I said as I exited the office. I walked down the stairs and greeted the receptionist that was all too familiar with my face. " Hey Revan, how have you been these days?" I asked.  " Hello (y/n), I've been better. So many people want an audience with the council. I can't even get days off." she complained to me.

I gave her an encouraging smile, which she took quite nicely. " It will pass. I can put in a good word for you since I'm meeting the councilman in a few minutes." I said trying to reassure her. Revan thanked me and continued on with her work. With enough time wasted, I walked to the elevator to reach the floor where the councillor's office was. As I waited I felt an arm grasp my shoulder, I swiftly grabbed the person's arm and slammed him into the elevator wall when it opened. Blocking his movements with an arm choke, I fully looked at my so called assailant properly.

Before I could even question what the person wanted from me, the man pushed me away and twisted my arm. He slammed me against the elevator wall, rendering me motionless. " Calm down lieutenant (l/n), my name is Garrus Vakarian. I'm the C-sec officer that was assigned to investigate the Saren case, I was hoping to ask you a few question regarding the mission." the turian said in a calm and collected voice.

I sighed, " Depends on what you want to know officer. Am I going to be taken to the station in handcuffs if I don't comply?" I spoke with sarcasm. The turian gave me an annoyed look, not at all pleased with my answer. " Not one for jokes I see. If you would kindly let me go officer, the doors are about to open." I smiled at him. He released me from his hold, not wanting people to stare at us with weird glances. " Please lieutenant, if you would answer a few questions it would help me greatly." Vakarian asked with a fake smile.

I walked up to the turian to say something but before I could say a word, an assari commando stood in front of us with an unamused look. I laughed a little, " Nisessis, what a pleasant surprise. Care to keep this officer busy while I report to the councillor about the mission." I said to her with an eager look. " Ofcourse ma'am. I was ordered to guide you to the councillor's office without any diversions." she said in a serious voice, all too knowing about what power I had.

" I'm sorry officer Vakarian, I can't help you at this moment. Maybe some other time we can talk over a couple of drinks but for now please excuse me." I said to him as I walked out of the elevator. " So rumours are true, you are the council's lap dog. A so called 'perfect solider' that has unlimited power that even exceeds the spectres." he said with anger and hate dripping from his words. I stopped for a minute, my eyes being foreshadowed by my hair. I chuckled darkly, this made Nisessis shiver in fear - an assari commando no less.

" A lap dog huh? A know solider of the council that can kill without any remorse or hesitance is called a lap dog. That is amusing, yet it just shows that those people are spineless and can't face me head on."  I said with venom. I turned around, glaring at the turian.

How (y/n) glares:

" You of all people should understand Garrus Vakarian, my position is above you

" You of all people should understand Garrus Vakarian, my position is above you. So tread lightly when you speak to me. Who know's it maybe your last." I spoke to him which just caused the tension in the air rise to unspeakable levels. " Nisessis." I spoke the assari's name, she jolted a little and stood up straight in-front of her superior officer. " Get this turian out of here. He is not needed until the council has reached their verdict." I said walking away.

I walked away from the scene to head back to the office. When I reached the turian councillor's office, I was greeted with an unexpected surprise. " Viia, you are finally here." said the voice of Nihlus's assailant. " Saren...." I spoke with shock.
