Darkness. That's all I see. Everywhere around me. It floods the walls and floor, it's empty, cold feeling seeping into my skin. Darkness fills my field of vision and I scream out. I don't want it to consume me again…
Screaming is no use. The dark only muffles my screams more. No one can hear me now.
But then, another sound is heard through this neverending night.

It's a familiar voice, it's warmth cuts through this void of black.
"hey… Hey!! Y/N!! Wake up!!"
My eyes snap open. I jerk upright. I see a familiar face, on it, a familiar smile… that smile cut through the dark like a ray of pure sunshine...
"D-did I fall asleep...?" My voice cracks as I speak, remembering the nightmares I have every night.
The young boy in front of me giggles, his smile widening.
"You sure did, Y/N!! But it's okay, I woke you up before the bell! Can't forget, last day of school! I can't believe we'll be fourth graders soon!!"
Right, today's the last day of third grade…
I smile up at my good friend Mirio, his grin never leaving his round face. How doesn't his mouth get tired from smiling so big so often?
That doesn't matter now. We're both happy, happiness needs to be shown. Smiling shows happiness.
I didn't realize it then, but in a few years his warm, goofy smile turns cold…
But this is all in the past. And we have time later to discuss the present. But for now, let's just relive these precious past moments, before their trully gone…
