Day 18: The Davidsons
Tierna's POV

"So you have a sister that you didn't tell us about?" Julie asked for what felt like the 50th time on the ride to the hotel.

I nodded glumly as I fiddled with my fingers looking up every few minutes to see if we'd arrived.

"Knock it off." Becky said from her seat where she was reading.

"Sorry." Julie mumbled.

"Tierna, you know it's going to be okay, right?" Kelley said.

"We don't even know that. For all I know Olivia could be getting into trouble even in the facility. My parents could get a fucking divorce. For all I know, my dad has been drinking away his fucking paycheck instead of using for bills. Maybe my mom has only been supporting our family for longer than I thought. I threw away my senior year of college and left California and everything's gone wrong because I wasn't there to help my sister keep everything from going to shit. I was in Chicago pursuing what I thought was the right thing and this whole time my family has been breaking apart and crumbling and... and-" I ranted before Christen cut me off.

"Hey T, let's calm down. We're at the hotel now so we can go in and talk to Jill."

I took a deep breath as I tried to untense, but I couldn't as I stepped out of the car, grabbing my bag from the trunk and starting inside.

As I entered the hotel quickly, Becky keeping up with me, I spotted the Portland players walking into a room with one of the staff standing in front of it.

I made my way over to the room and walked in, spotting Jill sitting on a chair towards the front of the room.

I took another breath and walked over, my suitcase rolling behind me until it flipped over and I turned around to see Sonnett and Lindsey laughing.

"Not now." Becky said before lightly moving us forward.

Finally, we made it to our coach as she looked up.

"Nice to see you guys again. Do you need anything?" Jill asked.

"Can... can you tell her?" I asked, turning to Becky looking down.

"Yeah, kiddo. Jill, Tierna's mom is in a hospital here in California and Tierna was wondering if she could go see her and check in with the rest of her family about it as well today." Becky said as our coach's expression changed.

"Oh, yes of course leave your luggage here and we'll have it taken to your room. I'm sorry to hear about that. Tierna, take your time, I'll give you the first three days of camp off." Jill said, surpising me majorly. "Here's the keys to one of the rental vans. Becky, I'd like you to accompany her too so you've got today, and tomorrow off."

"Thanks, coach." Becky and I said as I put my suitcase against the wall.

Becky grabbed my shoulder and we walked back out of the room and outside to the car.

"Okay. Tierna, you know that I'm here for you, right?" Becky asked me.

"Yeah, I know that."

"Seriously."

"I know. I'm just really worried about Olivia... she's gonna be so mad for not being able to be there for mom and... why couldn't I have done something right for once and stayed home? Why did this happen?" I said, finally bursting.

"I don't know and it sucks, but it will be okay. We're gonna go see your mom, then we're gonna go see about seeing your sister." Becky said calmy as she watched the road that we were driving down.
