Chapter 03

Chapter 03: About the Engagement

August, 26, 1900

Ryujin's POV

After, I got to them my parents quickly hugged me. Making me have problems in breathing, I quickly tapped their shoulders to signaling them I can't breathe. They quickly let go of me, and let me breathe for a brief moment. But, after that they quickly question me.

"Young lady! How can you just do that to us?!"

"Don't you know we were so worried about you?"

"You shouldn't have done that!"

"Especially since you were still so young, back then!"

"Look at what you did to your hair!!"

And things like that, I quickly glanced at Yuna asking her to help, which she gladly did. But, I kind regret it, because she just hugged me, but unlike my parent's hug hers was a bit on the gentle side of things. I was getting super comfortable with the hug, because I haven't hugged her in a long time.

But, then I quickly let go of the hug, as I remembered, because of what happened back then, and the reason why I ran away. I decided if I was going to see them once more, I had to ask why they are here.

"Mother, I'm sorry for the intrusion but, what are you doing here?" I asked her, looking.

"Umm... about that..." Mother started, and looked at Father then looked at me and then Yuna. I then looked at Yuna, she was fixing her gown, when she noticed that we were starring at her.

"Umm... is there, something on my face?" She asked, while pointing at her face.

"Umm, not really, It's just you remember the reason why we came here, right?" Mother asked her, which she just answered with a nod.

"Yeah... why?" She asked. But, for some reason I don't trust her, because she seems like she's lying, I mean I was literally with her until she was nine!

"Really, Yuna?" I asked her, and crossed my arms, while tapping my foot on the floor.

"Y-Yeah..." She said, stuttering, and avoiding my gaze.

I walked closer to her, while the other royalties were just looking at us; she immediately looked up to be met by my hand, pinching her right ear.

"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Eonni! Stop it!" She said, well, more like exclaiming. I smirked, knowing that I already won.

"If you want this to stop, and then tell me. What is the purpose of this travel?" I asked her.

"I don't know! Mother and Father never told me anything about this trip!" She said, and that made me smile more, while she was still grasping her right ear.

I turned around to meet them, but both of them were busy avoiding my gaze. But, then Mother said something.

"I think... you already know, Ryujin. After all, you knew about it, for a very long time." Mother said, while looking at Father.

I know that the other royalties here are enjoying this. But, unlike them, I don't. I quickly approached them, and looked at the both of them in the eyes. And I already saw it; they were here for Yuna's arranged marriage. I can't believe it, after all these years, they're still going continuing it.

After that, I quickly turned around and picked up my gown, and started walking away from them. But, I was being stopped by Yuna.

"Eonni!" She shouted. But, I still continued to walk away from them.

'She's still so stubborn....' I thought to myself.

"Eonni! Don't leave yet! I still have so many things to tell you!" She still shouted at me, I suddenly heard footsteps coming.

"But, of course you'll have to answer my questions!" She shouted, making me stop.

I admit it did stop me, but, I didn't turn around. Because, I was already so fragile inside. One wrong move, I'll show my weak side. This is something I don't ever want to show in front of a large crowd or anybody for that matter.

"Finally, you stopped! Okay, let's start the questioning." She said, and fixed herself.

"What's the reason, eonni? Come on tell me." She said, judging from her tone she was happy.

But, I didn't budge. I only rolled my hands into a fist.

"Why did you leave me alone, eonni?" She asked.

When, she asked me that, something came into my mind.

It was a little Yuna, she was holding her favorite doll.

'Miss hoppin...' I thought.

She was standing right In front of me...

She looked like she was about to cry...

I was about to go to her... But, she said something...

"Eonni, why did you leave me?"

She asked, while crying. And that shattered my heart. I started running towards her, but every time I try to go near her, it was like impossible. She was getting further and further.

I was so close to being with her, but, I was also close to crying.

I was about to reach her, and when I did, I tried hugging her but she suddenly disappeared like smoke, into thin air.

"I'll leave you alone, so you'll also feel, what I felt back then." She said, and disappeared into thin air.

And that woke me up.

"Eonni!" I heard somebody shout. I flinched with that shout.

'That... I'm not like that back then... What... What happened to me?' I thought.

"Eonni... are you okay?" I heard Yuna ask. I quickly felt something hot, dripping down my face. Tears. They were tears.

Once, I heard that I quickly turned around and I heard gasps. Mostly from my family, because they aren't used to see me cry. I just stood at my place, and smiled.

"You want to know, why I ran away." I asked her which she nervously nodded at.

I laughed. "It's the same reason, you guys are here." I said which she looked confused about.

"What do you mean, eonni?" She asked, tilting her head.

"Oh. Come on, Yuna. Didn't they even tell you?" I asked, and smiled.

"Well, let me tell you." I said.

"They are arranging you with somebody, you don't know." I said, and laughed.

I saw Mel going near me. Once, she was near to me, she then tried to stop me. But, I just shook her off me.

"Ryujin... stop... you're going to break the poor girl's heart..." She said, trying to stop me.

"No, Mel. She needs to know why I ran away and what the reason is. Why you guys are here." I said, and shook her off.

I looked at Yuna's and saw her she was almost crying, but I know she's trying to push it back in. Yes, as her older sister, it hurts. But, she needs to know about this.

"Please, tell me. You're lying... That's not true..." She said, while looking at me.

I laughed, and clapped me hands. "If you think that I'm lying. Then, how about asking Mother and Father about it?" I asked her, and then turned around to leave.

I'm sure, that they are all too surprised by what I did back then. So, they'll be so busy to deal with Yuna, and not go after me. I quickly left the scene, because I'm already a pretty big mess, because I was already crying.

I left the place, with Chaeryeong and Taehyun, following behind me.
