Chapter 4 Today is the day

Ughhh. I don't know why I'm up so early. I just can't stop thinking about what August said and the nice thing he did for me. I'm just not used to a guy actually taking time out of their day just for me. I'm really trying my best not to over think about it tho. It's 8:09 Am and I usually get up at 10:00. I go to the kitchen to get a glass of water and as I head back to my room I hear a door open.

Todd: You're up early *goes into bathroom*

Y/ N: I just got up to get some water.

Todd:*opens bathroom door* Oh August said be ready at 3:00

Y/ N: So you know?

Todd: Yea. August is my nigga so I know he won't try no funny shit. You thought I was gone trip about it or something?

Y/N: No but do you know where we going?

Todd: He said yall was going... Oh wait a minute you know it's supposed to be a surprise *laughing* tryna get me caught up.

Y/N: *laughing* Can I get a hint or something?

Todd: Nah

Y/N: *sucks teeth* ite

Todd: No need for the attitude, im just not gone rat on my boy.

Y/N: I said ite *goes in room and closes door*

I really wish Todd will tell me where August is planning on taking me but he's tryna be funny. He knows I cant handle things like this. I glance at the clock again and its 8:20

I guess I'll try to go back to sleep

*hours past by*

I roll over and open my eyes. The sunlight shone through my curtain. It must be late. I rolled over to the other side to peek at my clock again and its 11:43. My eyes widened and I quickly get out of bed.

Mom: Oh I thought you were dead in there. You're to late for breakfast but it's damn near lunch time so I don't feel bad.

Y/N: *laughing* It's ok mom

Mom: I heard August was taking you out today, nice guy,he's been around for years so I trust him.

Y/N: Who told you?

Mom: I'm a mother, I find things out and plus I never tell my source.

I have a feeling Alicia was snooping around my room,listening at the door to me and August conversation and told mom but it's whatever.

Mom: So get out of ya bed clothes *touches your hair* and do something with that please.

Y/N: Ite mom

I go back to the room and fish through my closet. I want to look nice but not too dressy. I pick out a black blouse and my fave floral print leggings with my little white toms shoes. Time to start my daily routine. After showering I was surprised my hair actually looked good so I scrunched it and decided to wear it out curly today. I walked to the living room to sit until time passes by.

Todd: hmmm someone looks nice today

Alicia: Yeah really nice

Mom: Leave her alone. I happy my baby is finding some self confidence.

Alicia: *whispers* about time

Y N: Mom I never lacked self confidence I just don't stroll around like conceited bit..(cuts self off) well you know full of myself *side eyes Alicia*

Mom: Well it's great to be humble

Todd: it's only 1:18 you got ready early huh?

Y/N: just need a little self preparation that's all.
