I grew up on a small farm with my parents. We lived in a small town surrounded by forests. We raised cows, sheep, chickens and also some pigs. I always tried to help out in and around the farm. Both of my parents farm and that inspired me to farm. I used to be the curious type always wanting to learn new things, everything was exciting. As a child I always loved to wonder of into the woods and walk the paths nearby the farm that lead to the next village. I figured there'd be lost of fun things to discover out there. I went searching for treasures a lot, but the forest were always empty. The paths were rarely empty though. As I walked alongside them I would always find some travelers or merchant making their way through the forest. I was a jolly child so I would always greet them with the biggest of smiles. Most of the time people would smile back but I got ignored from time to time as well. I didn't mind though, my head would still be filled with the smiles of people who didn't ignore me.
One day, I wandered of too far and had lost my way I panicked and ran into the forest. Even though it would have been obvious to simply follow the path back I was young and not the brightest. In the forest I ended up even more lost, I started screaming and running in circles. I have no idea how much unwanted attention I got. In my panicking I stumbled across a campfire. It was still lit but there was nobody around. I felt dozens of eyes watching me move closer to the fire, I was terrified. I hastened towards the fire only to trip and fall face flat on the ground. I felt the presence close in on me and I became too scared to move. I closed my eyes and started wishing it was all a dream. I don't remember how long I laid on the ground, all I remember is everything turning black and waking up in a village I had never seen before. I woke up in a small room with no one around. Still terrified I opened the door trembling. On the other side of the door was a typical living room and there were two people sitting on the couch having a conversation. One of them came up to me and kneeled down. He tried to reassure me and explained that he had found me near his camp in the forest. The man had taken me with him to the next town over and had brought me to a friendly villagers home to rest. He said his goodbyes to me and left me with the villager. The woman introduced herself as Ayla. She offered me a drink and took me grocery shopping after, I think this was to distract me and calm me down. Once we arrived back at her home my voice returned to me and I told her where I was from. She told me she would find someone heading back in that direction who could take me home. About two days passed before she brought home a traveler who was willing to take me with them. I thanked Ayla and followed the traveler to his cart where I was allowed to sit next to them. They returned me home and got a reward from my parents for their effort.
The days after that passed by quickly, I had house arrest and wasn't allowed to go behind our fences. My bedtimes were earlier and I lost my curiosity. I tended to stay in the house more often and sometimes even refused to go downstairs to help out. My body had started feeling weird and it had started to act up, I could feel something surging inside of me but I didn't know what. My parent thought I was trying to get out of my house arrest and ignored my cries for help. I got so far that I started to feel uncomfortable in my own body. One night I felt like I was losing control of myself. This time my parents started to get worried, my temperature started rising and I started muttering to myself uncontrollably. I faintly remember them telling me they send a passing traveler to find me help but most of that night is a blur to me now. My mother tucked me into bed and I could hear them discussing me behind my closed door. The last thing I heard before falling asleep were my parents weeping. I don't fully remember and I something think it was a dream but I think I woke up in the middle of the night. Everything was silent and dark, it reminded me of the forest. I dropped down to the floor ready to burst out in tears but a voice in my head stopped me. The voice whispered "Fire bolt" to me, along with the words repeating over and over in my head I could sense my hands moving without me telling them to. I either fell back asleep or stopped dreaming after that.
When I woke up my house was up in flames. I could hear my parents calling for me from behind my door. My room was small and one of the beams that supported the roof had fallen down and was blocking my door. Everywhere I looked I saw fire but for some reason it didn't scare me, it even felt familiar. I wasn't calm but I wasn't scared either. In a rush to get out I headed over to my window. It was fairly small but with my size I could fit right through. I opened the window and without looking I immediately pushed myself through. Through opening my window I had caused the flames that had already reached my roof to come flying towards me. I severely burned my shoulder and tumbled of the roof. Knocked unconscious I later woke up in clinic room. My parents and I were treated and returned to our burned down home.
We started rebuilding and temporarily lived in the stables with our animals. The farm was rebuild and no one ever found out what the cause of the fire ended up being. But I knew, I knew something wasn't right. I knew I did even though I couldn't fully remember. I knew because my body had calmed down. The energy surging inside me had found its place and calmed down. It felt unsettling to feel at peace again. Some time passed by and my body started acting up again, I knew that if I didn't leave my home history might repeat itself. I didn't want to put my parents through that again so I told them I was old enough and ready to go on an adventure. They didn't agree but I wasn't planning on staying. I packed up and left my home. I traveled to the next town over and found my place with a sorcerer traveling alone. Her name was Marsys Kearis, she told me about how she found out her powers and that I might be the same. She taught me what she knew and I quickly found out how similar I was to her. I learned to better contain my magical urges and learned new spells and how to use them. We started taking up adventures together and traveled from town to town searching for our answers.
