"There's nothing wrong with you. There's a lot wrong with the world you live in."

I am in love,
I announced,
My friends and family,
Both suddenly frowned.

They asked me if I was fine,
I know I was only nine,
But back then I could proudly say,
Yes, I am Gay.

But as I grew older,
My sexuality burdened my shoulders,
As I passed down the streets,
I got advices rather than greets.

Is it so hard to love, I thought,
How can I like a girl, I just cannot,
Why can't you accept me,
I like boys why can't you see.

I realise now,
It is not my choice that matters,
My love cannot exist,
If in "socially desirable" books it is not list.

I fought it as much as I could,
But I could not Win,
My loved ones with a lot of people against me stood.

Now I still fight,
Not with anyone else,
The fight is with me myself,
It's pain I cannot recite.

It is not only me here,
I have many more,
The ones who cannot express,
Finally end up depressed.

Is this what it is meant to be,
If I have a different Sexuality,
Why can't you just accept me,
I still like boys, why can't you see.
