Cherry Blossoms

I wish I was like

All of the other girls

Whose dimples bloom

Like cherry blossoms

Laughter that sounds

as easy as ocean breeze

eyes as bright as

Every Sun in the sky

They dance in montages

And sing like sirens

They're the kinds of girls

you can't help but smile at

The ones whose story

Can be told in movies

I try to imagine what it's like

But even as I write

I sit alone in silence

Still in my pajamas

When I lookup

my eyes don't turn bright

When I walk into a room

people don't look up

When I smile

my cheeks don't turn into

cherry blossoms

I'm not in a movie

or the character in a story

I'm just me, and instead

I'll grow my own cherry trees

And my mind will speak

A thousand words wisely

even though no one can hear

My eyes will watch the beauty

Of the world and watch

The stars fall away
