Leonardo's powers are: controling the weather, super speed, shape shifting and the power of the elements (water, fire, earth and air).
Leo might look like he's the oldest of his brothers but he is not related to them. Leo is actually the last of his kind and the youngest, but still the leader for now. He got his powers from his real siblings and parents. You see Leo was the youngest in his family too, and the weakest, he was sick when he was born so his family gave him there powers in ether for him to live, but in the process they all passed away.
Leonardo was soon after mutated and adopted into a, not so lovely family when he was 3, where he was abused and tormented. Every night he wished for a new, happier family. Then one day his 'parents' kicked him out at age 6, that is where he met splinter. And once again adopted. Leo is now 15 years old, his brothers do know about his powers and background, and so does April, Casey and Master Splinter.
He just needs a little more... Self control
