Chapter 13

I paced around my room, thinking how I was going to approach Nathan about the kiss with Olivia. I could ignore it and play stupid, but I also wanted to know what the hell was going on! Guilt weighed down on me for not telling Mason especially after he quit his job. Then again. I didn't want to get Nathan is trouble with Mason. That would be a disaster.

More pacing ensued. Back and forth, back and forth. I finally made my decision.

I marched to Nathan’s room and slammed open his door only to see him snoring into his pillow. I rolled my eyes at him and slapped him on the back of the head.

“Mhmmm, leave me alone,” he whined.

I rolled my eyes. “We have to talk or I’m going to tell Mason about your kiss with Olivia.”

Nathan flipped his shoulder length hair out of his hair, sat up, and held a hostile facial expression. “What do you know?”

I pursed my lips. “I don’t know but maybe you should tell me why the hell you would kiss Mason’s little sister!” I threw my hands up in exasperation. “She is underage, you asshole.” I continued yelling at Nathan but he didn't say anything back to defend himself. “Do you have anything to say with yourself?”

He sighed and brushed his hands through his hair. “It was an accident.” I poked my chin up, indicating for him to elaborate.  He sighed again. “I shouldn't have kissed back, but I like her... a lot.” I opened my mouth to say something, but Nathan put his hands up to stop me. “but you can’t tell Mason, he will never talk to me again. I swear Amelia, I will never kiss or look or smell or touch or think of her again.” He put his hands together, begging me not to tell Mason.

What do I do? Accidents happen right? but Mason has done so much for me. So has Nathan. I looked back at Nathan. He was distraught and so desperate. I couldn't tell, this would ruin Nathan, Olivia's, and Mason’s relationship. I’ve always hated making decisions.

I groaned, “Fine.” Nathan swept me up in one gigantic Bear hug.

“Thank god.” I muttered a ‘whatever’ and jumped into bed with him.

“I lost my job and so did Mason. And it’s my fault.” Money was disappearing.  I checked my bank account right after I got fired earlier in the night. The money that I had saved was almost gone. Since I had to pay a fortune for my wrist to be checked and my car needed a new part and another part, money was rapidly disappearing. Then there was my half of rent and bills and gas.

“How did you loose your job and how did you loose Mason’s job?” Nathan asked me quietly.

I explained what happened with Mr. Kovslav. That douche bag. I hated my life right now and myself. Why did I have to try to be the hero?

“That fucking douche bag. Joe is sleazy, but I never thought that sleazy.” I was stuck in my own mind and Nathan continued to go off on Joe and the strip club. I wasn’t listening that much. “I’m going to quit too. I will not be working for Joe or Kovslav.”

I rested my arm on Nathan in order to calm him down. “You can’t! You should keep your job. Don’t let me and Mason ruin your way of living.”

He let out a chuckle. “I have a trust fund, in case you forgot. I don’t need to work.”

“Well lucky you,” I spit out. It wasn’t supposed to come out as snarky but it did.

“What’s your problem?”

I shook my head. “I’m sorry, I needed mean anything by it. I’m almost broke and I’m not sure if I can make rent. Mason said we will get a record deal but I haven't played with you for that long and I bring you guys down. I just don’t know.” I trailed off into my own thoughts, once more. Maybe I should have went to medical school like my dad and everybody else in my family.
“Amelia, look at me.” I turned my head towards Nathan and frowned. “I got you and we will get us a record deal because you make us even better.” I wasn’t sure what he meant by ‘I got you’ but it was reassuring none the less. “Now, let me get some sleep. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I will be the first to get some Pumpkin pie.”
