Azazel stepped in front of her, watching his father closely. He kept one hand on his blade at all times.
Evangeline looked up at him. What the heck was happening? Would the devil kill his own son? The confusion was plain on her face, her hands shaking rapidly, despite the grasp she had on her pants.
"Son, move. This angel refused me, she dies," he glared down at Azazel.
"Spare one angel, even if she's the only one, spare her." The devil may not kill his son, but his son has been waiting for this opening for years.
"Oh? And this angel is special why?"
"Because I say so, now fuck off, or things are going to have to get a bit more extreme here, father." He drew his blade out, just being prepared for any sort of attack or threat his father might throw at him.
Evangeline gently touched his shoulder, "What are you doing?" Why would the son of the devil threaten his own father? It just doesn't make any sense. But then again, neither did that day three months ago-
Azazel looked over his shoulder at her, his smile surprisingly soft.
"Can you guys stop being hetero for- " she cut off mid sentence. Staring somewhere past Lucifer.
Evangeline jumped. Both at Seraphine and the look Azazel gave her. A tsunami of thoughts raced through her head. What was going to happen? Was he really going to fight? Would she have to fight? Evangeline would fight, of course, but for who? The God she's worked for her whole life, or the -surprisingly attractive- demon in front of her.
Immane was a bit focused at the moment. She's gotten used to angel's attacks over these past few months. But something's just felt...off to her. Like something was missing. Something she wasn't missing before. She turned to her left, catching a glance at a face she knew all too well.
"Son, get back to my side, or I'll have no choice but to hurt you."
"Do it, coward." Azazel flicked Ev's side, trying to tell her to leave.
Why did she even fight for heaven? Why did heaven matter? It's corrupt, the leader doesn't give a shit, so why was she still on their side. She looked up at Lucifer, distracted. She snuck around him and ran up to where Immane was and held the angel, she's done being played as a pawn.
Ev wasn't planning on leaving. If she had to fight, she had to fight. She couldn't let this...demon die from his father. She quickly moved beside him, not behind him. Sure, she was shaking, but when wasn't she?
Immane took the shot, not realizing who it was. She looked up from the now dead angel, seeing who it was. Her entire face lit up. Seraphine was her sunshine, and just seeing her made the entire world light up, despite the circumstances.
Sera smiled at her dropping the angel, "hey."
Azazel looked at her, shocked, "why aren't you running?"
Immane wasted no time almost suffocating Seraphine in a hug. Suddenly, the ground shook below them.
"We-we'll fight t-together," Evangeline stuttered out, looking very unconfident.
Seraphine hugged her back nearly crying with how happy she was to see her, "I missed you, and- and I thought about you every day."
Azazel nodded, turning back to his father, who in his time of distraction had sent a blast of fire towards him. Azazel fell back ten feet at the least.
