Y/n's Pov
Ah, finally! Sunday, the absolute best day of the week. I'm thrilled because today, I get to visit Mrs. Scott and lend her a hand at the library. Diana Scott is a wonderful lady I crossed paths with when I initially arrived in Korea and was grappling with the challenge of finding a part-time job. She graciously offered me a position at her library, which turned out to be a lifesaver. Since she doesn't have children of her own, she treats both Sana and me like we're part of her family.
I swiftly throw on a cream sweater crop top, pair it with black jeans, and leave my hair down as I prepare for the day. Time to go and spend some quality moments with Mrs. Scott.
Grabbing my car keys and phone, I step out of my apartment, hop into my car, and drive over to Mrs. Scott's library. I absolutely adore her little haven; it's not massive, just a cozy two-story library. During my free time, I often find solace here, indulging in my love for books. Being a devoted reader and book collector, you could say I'm a bona fide bibliophile."Mrs. Scott," I call out as I enter the library, scanning the area for Diana. "On the second floor, sweetie," comes the reply from above.
I ascend the stairs to the second floor, where I find her arranging books on the shelves. The moment she spots me, a warm smile lights up her face. Stepping down from the stool, she pulls me into a tight hug, saying, "Y/n! I missed you, and how many times have I told you to call me Diana?" I offer a sheepish smile in response, saying, "I missed you too, Mrs. Sc– Diana. Aren't you supposed to open the library? It's almost 11."
"Oh dear, is it now? Come on then," she exclaims, dragging me downstairs to open the library.
In just a few minutes, the library buzzes with the presence of people and kids, some browsing, and others engrossed in reading at the desks. Eventually, Diana approaches me with a stack of books in her hands and asks, "Y/n, could you please place these new romance novels in the romance section?"
"Absolutely, Diana. Hand me that stack," I respond, taking the novels and making my way to the romantic section. Along the series of shelves, I locate a stool, position it beside the shelf, and stand on it, meticulously arranging the books on the top shelf.
After a few minutes, I hear footsteps approaching this section, but I dismiss them, focused on the task at hand. As I place the last book in its designated spot, the stool suddenly wobbles, causing me to lose my balance. Bracing myself for the impending fall, I'm taken aback when I land on something else. What just happened to the ground? Am I dreaming? OMG. Is this what heaven feels like?
"No, you're not dead. Now, if you're done babbling, get off me before I throw you off," hissed a deep voice beneath me. Slowly opening my eyes, I realize I'm literally lying on a handsome man dressed in a black fitted tuxedo. He's undeniably attractive. No, Y/n, I remind myself, you have to steer clear of the male race. Don't get swayed.
"I know I'm hot, woman, so stop ogling me and get off me," he smirks, his eyes piercing into mine. However, his smirk quickly turns into a frown, snapping me back to reality. I hastily move away from him, mumbling a quick apology.
He retrieves his fallen book, shoots me a cold glare, and exits the romantic section. What a rude guy. My luck seems to be taking a nosedive lately. I keep encountering strange people. I just hope I don't run into him again in the future. I'd prefer to stay at least 10 feet away from such guys.
