Pain

I came back to get something for Saint but found Joong and Nine. I wasn't completely sure what was said but I had seen for sure that they were arguing so I went to go to them to see what was wrong when Nine grabbed my wrist and pulled me outside to the car. As soon as he started to cry he almost fell and I had to catch him. I softly rubbed his back while he tightly held onto me and I waited for him to speak. I wasn't going to push him. He'd open up when he felt like it. When we got home I laid with him on his bed while he cuddled up to me and cried still.

Kat: "I know you Nine. You're not easily hurt like this unless you feel like youve been betrayed. What happened baby?"

His breathe was shaky while he spoke and sounded tired.

Nine: "Joong lied to me.He is just using me for my body and doesn't love me Kat. You were right, he's just a fuck boy."

I looked at Nine while I stroked a hand through his hair. Joong wasn't one to lie. In fact I knew he hated lies and he had never used someone for their body. Sure, he fucked around sometimes but when he loved someone he'd be serious with them for sure. I went to say something but realized he had cried himself to sleep so I climbed out of the bed and covered him up. My phone started to ring as I left room so I picked up without seeing who it was.

Kat: "Hello?"

Ben: "Kat, Joong is drunk off his ass here and the bar is closing soon. Earth is passed out so can you help? Please?"

I sighed. It took a lot for him to get drunk enough like before, it took him being there for hours upon hours and non stop drunking. No matter how mad I still was at Ben, Joong was still my friend and needed help. I could also use his drunken state to ask what happened.

Kat: "Okay. Just get Earth home. I got Joong. Did he drive there?"

I heard Joong yell about getting more to drink but even through the phone I heard how drunk he was. Ben told him no but I knew him all to well. He'd do it anyway.

Ben: "No. He came with us. He was bawling his eyes out so Earth and I brought him here. We've been here for around six hours."

It had been seven since I got home with Nine. So probably.

Kat: "I'm on the way then. Don't let him drink anymore."

I hung up and drove there. When I got there Earth was still passed out on the booth while Ben tried to stop Joong who was crying and drunk.

Kat: "I'll take him from here. You get Earth."

He nodded and softly picked him up, making sure I could handle Joong before leaving so I took his drink and sat next to him taking a sip and not caring that it burned my throat a little, yet that was why I enjoyed it.

Kat: "What happened today that caused you two to break up Joong? I've never seen either of you like this."

He chuckled and his eyes were glazed over from crying and the alcohol.

Joong: "Yuna said something to him. You know how it is with her. Nine is so naive. He'll listen because he's scared still."

I nodded and helped him stand. Once he was able to walk I drove him to his place and made sure he was okay before he went inside. Since I was already out and about I went to the hospital to check on Saint. When I got there I saw Fai and felt my anger rise already.

Kat: "What are you doing here? You should really stop hanging around and leave him alone."

she scoffed and looked at me.

Fai: "And shouldn't you be with that little rat that was with you before?"

I hated when people talked down to Nine like that.

Kat: "Watch your mouth bitch. You know from experience that I don't play nice when people piss me off."

She rolled her eyes and walked off while I went to Saints room. The boy they said was Perth was passed out on the couch beside the bed and Lay was sitting in the chair with his eyes closed.

Saint: "Look who's here again. Can't stay away can you? Or can you not live without me anymore?"

I rolled my eyes and looked at him. I smiled lightly seeing he didn't look like hell anymore. He had some color back to his face and he wasn't super pale and he clearly had his jokes back.

Kat: "More like you can't live without me. Literally. You flirt with me at the skating rink then you go ahead and nearly die? Tsk, could have asked if I wanted you dead."

He chuckled and moaned, touching his side where he had the surgery.

Saint: "Do you? Want me to die I mean?"

I looked at the two who were sleeping then back at Saint seriously.

Kat: "No one deserves to die. No matter how cheesy or crazy you can be."

He nodded and met my eyes.

Saint: "I heard you before. When I was dying. You were all I heard. I remember this bright light reaching for me but I turned it away because I didn't want to leave you. I want to stay. And I want you to know I want to stay."

I smiled and looked down. My phone pinged and I saw it was a voice message from Earth so I put it to my ear to listen and anger pulled at me.

Yuna: "Poor you Nine. Those hickeys. You think they mean anything to a guy like him? Funny. You know, we were a fake couple but he had me sleep with him all the time. Using me for my body and he promised to be with me."

Nine scoffed and I inhaled when he spoke because he clearly was already believing her.

Nine: "It's not true. You don't know anything about him. You were just a fake couple."

Her laugh pissed me off and I met Saint's questioning eyes.

Yuna: "He told me he wanted us to be exclusive before the show ended. Yet he dumped me and had sex with me the same day before he had to leave to get you. Funny how he can go back and forth still."

I clicked off of it and sent a thanks to Earth before slamming my phone on the table out of frustration. That bitch. I knew Joong better than that and now she got on my bad side. I was startled when a warm hand touched my arm and it was Saint who was now standing next to me, I could see he was in pain but he didn't seem to care.

Saint: "What's wrong?"

I smiled lightly and made him lay back down. Luckily he didn't take out his IV since I wasn't standing to far away.

Kat: "Nothing. I'll handle it. You rest. You get to leave soon anyway."

He nodded as I walked out. I wasn't going to let this slide and Nine needed to know the truth.
