Amira opened a really, really, thick, big, metal door. The room was 7 times bigger than my bedroom, so it's like the size of my whole house. The walls were painted light brown.
"Now, line up from shortest to tallest," Amira instructed.
"Uhm, Amira, what should I do while they are training?" Joan asked.
Shrugging, she replied,"I dunno. Watch them, sit down, explore this mansion, whatever you like."
"Okay," Turning to me, Joan mouthed,"In your face!" I just rolled my eyes.
When we were done lining up, Amira asked me,"Which power do you choose?"
"Ice Palm."
"Okay, go there." She pointed to the right side of the back in the room.
"How about you, Steffi?"
I heard her say,"Expandability."
Steffi was beside me, we were about 7 feet apart, and Lois was beside her, also 7 feet apart. Joan was no where. Maybe she went to sleep again. Amira was in the front center part of the room.
"Walk forward," She said,"10 steps forward."
"Okay, so you see this three targets here?" Instead of the normal targets you see, the round ones with a red dot in the middle, these targets were different. They were star-shaped, and it looks like they were made of metal. The color was silver, and in the middle of the star was a blue smiley face.
"Catherine, your goal is at least to hit the star. Doesn't have to be the smiley face." I nodded. She wasn't done explaining. "Once you have hit it, back one step and hit it again. Then if you hit it, back one step again, then do that cycle until you reach the place you were awhile ago. Don't start until I say so." I nodded again.
"Steffi, try to stretch one of your arm until you reach the star, then stretch both arms and reach the star. Then you will walk one step backwards."
"Lois, try to reach the star, then walk one step backwards."
"But it's Fire Eyes, what if I accidentally hit someone?" Amira didn't reply, instead, she walked to door. In the middle of the door was a switch for opening the light. She pressed it, then a small door appeared beside the switch. Turning the tiny door knob, we saw that inside the small door were many small buttons. She pressed the first button. Nothing happened in the room.
"You may not know it, but there is an invisible metal surrounding each of you until the target. So if ever you accidentally hit other places, it will just hit the metal," She explained. I walked sideways and my forehead hit something. It's the metal. That's so cool!
"Start now."
I focused on the target again. I held out both my arms, just like what I did when Mom tried to kill me.
Okay, appear, ice! I commanded my brain. Nothing happened. Appear! Still nothing. Wow, this is harder than what I expected. I glanced at Steffi and Lois. They were trying, I can tell. They look funny, and I started laughing. I hope they won't see me and think I'm mocking them. I kept laughing, and stopped when I realized that ice came out if my palm!
The ice didn't reach the star, though. I still needed a few more feet to reach it. Steffi and Lois must have seen the ice, because both of them turned to look at me with an expression like,"how did you do that?"
I shrugged, and mouthed,"I laughed." Their expressions turned more confused than ever.
More clearly, I repeated," I laughed." They gave me an,"are you crazy?" look and focused on the target again.
For some reason, I realized that Amira wasn't here.
Anyway, I looked at Steffi and Lois again. I laughed even harder, seeing their expressions, like, focusing so hard. Again ice shot out of it, and this time, it hit the the star!! Wow!
Steffi and Lois looked at me again. I shrugged. They turned back to the star again.
Remembering what Amira said, I took one step backward.
Then I thought of something: it's not a good idea to use laughing to make ice shoot out of it, because what if I come across real danger? I have to laugh first? Then people will think I'm crazy.
So instead of laughing, I commanded my brain. Ice did shoot out, but it didn't even reach two feet.
Maybe I can try anger. But how can I be angry now? I closed my eyes and thought about Grazilda. I hate her.... She ruined people's lives... Nah... Nothing happened. I'm not angry enough haha.
I'll just keep commanding my brain...

Joan's P.O.V.
I can't sleep, even though I'm so sleepy. Something's wrong with me. Ever since we got here, I keep getting these weird visions. They change all the time. I had one awhile ago when I was at the eating breakfast at the dining hall. There was this one time, the vision was a fat pig with multi-colored, bright, neon skin with small fairy wings, saying,"oink!" Then the vision was gone. Yeah, that's really weird, right?
And something's really wrong. Ever since the day before Cath's birthday, I can't watch her. Something, SOMEONE'S messing with my senses. I can't even sense if Cath's in danger, something, I don't know. Whatever it is, I don't like the feeling. I somehow sense that something bad will happen these days...
And another thing is, I keep getting sleepy. I'm never usually sleep though.
I'm inside our bedroom, lying down on my bed. What time is it? Ugh 8:30. Time goes so slow when you're bored.
For a split second, I got another vision while staring at the ceiling. It's the pig again, except that Grazilda's cooking her in a really big bowl, the ones that witches use, you know? Then it's gone.

Lois's P.O.V.
So far, I still haven't hit the target. I heard the door opening. Amira's back.
She was saying something, but I didn't understand. She must've forgotten about the invisible metal thing.
I gave her at confused look and she pressed another button in the small door.
"So, how's it going, Lois?" Oh.
"Uh... I haven't reach the target yet," I admitted.
"Oh, well, usually, laughing helps. A lot. Or it depends on your mood, okay? But you shouldn't always use laughing to to shoot fire out."
I nodded. So Cath was right.

Steffi's P.O.V.
Ugh, I've only reach the target one time. This is so hard. I haven't even took one step backwards.
Amira is back. She pressed another button inside the tiny door.
"Steffi, have you reached your goal?" She's gonna be disappointed.
"Um, no. I've only reached the target one time, with my right arm."
"Laughing helps, you know? Or your mood."
Oh, Cath is not crazy. She was correct.

Cath's P.O.V.
Yay, two steps backward already!! The target was filled with sharp ice, but some were already melting.
Amira was back from somewhere she went.
She pressed a button in the door and said,"Cath, have you done it?"
"Yeah, two steps backward."
"That's good. Did you know that laughing helps?"
"Yes, that's how I first reached the target."
"Oh. Don't always use laughing." She told me.
Ha! So I'm not insane. I was right all along!
8 more steps to go.. It's already 8:35. I'm not sure if I can make it.

(So, how was that? Is it nice?? Sorry if there's still some wrong spellings... Thanks for voting, by the way!)
