Rikushi POV
I rushed to the hospital, crap. Crap! I could feel everyones eyes on me. I stumbled over some uneven stones sticking up from the ground. I slammed my fist into the stone. I'm supposed to watch over the room!
"Shit." I swiftly got up and ran with unbalanced speed. I reached the doors of the hospital, slamming them open. Where's mother?
"Mr. Wang?" A nurse caught my eyes.
"Yes?" She smiled and had me follow her towards mothers room.
The small breeze of cries soon appeared, the intense and uncomfortable air twirled around us as we realized that the baby in the nurses arms was small, skinny and her cries barely grazed my ear. My eyes adjusted to the rather dim room as I continued to walk through, realizing the look in our parents eyes which pulled me to a stop.
"She's beautiful." Father stated as he attempted to peacefully grab the child from the nurses arms until she took a step back. I frowned, my grip on the handle tightened.
"What's wrong?" His tone grew cold. "Why can't I-"
"She's small." The nurse stated simply, putting fathers words to a stop. "She can't handle much more then shes already been through. We have to place her in intense care immediately."
"Lucas." Mother loudly stated, slowly lifting herself up into a sitting position. "Leave them alone."
"Sonya, you shouldn't be moving around so much. " A medical ninja stated as he continued to attend to her wounds. My gaze fell upon her bare stomach.
"Wait, you got a-"
"Yes, my son." I looked at her, a smile quickly appeared in her pale face as she slowly closed her eyes. "I'll be fine, make sure your father doesn't get in their way, please." He frowned and stepped outside of the room, I sighed and continued to follow him as we reached outside of the building, he turned around and faced me.
"Son, you might have to protect her." I smiled at him and shook my head.
"Just becuase shes skinny, doesnt mean she wont have the strength of a bull." He chuckled and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"You always find a way to make me laugh whenever something serious pops up." His eyes finally met mine, I could see the fear in them. The anger.
"But I'm serious."
"Alright, I know you have faith in everyone but this is different. If she did have the strength of a bull, she would've been louder. Im just worried, if im proven wrong then well... I hope I am." He stated calmly.
As the evening passed, mother was able to walk back home and rest there. Father was celebrating with some alcoholic drinks along with a few others. I continued to peacefully walk around the compound, pondering over Emikos safety. Will she actually need my help?
"Hey! Rikushi." I heard footsteps running from behind me. I turned around and chuckled.
"What are you doing out here this late?" Her beautiful purple eyes shimmered underneath the moonlight.
"You were wandering out here alone so your mother had me look for you." I sighed and looked at the ground.
"It is late so you should probably head back. I'll walk with you." I stated, she glared at me as she tugged in my arm, pulling me with her.
"Hey, I was just about to say that." She pouted, letting go of my arm. We continued to walk through the compound, in silence.
"Rikushi? I-I heard you were ordered to protect your sister. I know you probably think that you dont have to but we both know that she probably wont be health-"
"Shut up." I quietly demanded. "Why does it matter if shes weak? She will still be able to handle herself. I mean, look at my parents. They both are strong mentally and physically. Who says shes not gonna develop those traits?"
"She will be affected by this and you know it. No matter how you explain to others that she may be this or that, they wont beleive you because of how she was born. They will believe that shes just a weak kid." Tears started to develop, I clenched my fists and stopped.
"I saw it..." She frowned, turning around to stare at my face while I looked up at the night sky. "I saw the determination in her eyes."
Tokomi POV
My gaze fell upon him, his eyes sparkled like stars. Even if she somehow succeeds, she'll probably have everyone worried.
"Ri, you know that most females in our clan is not usually the type to become a ninja. So, you parents-"
"Let's get going. My mother is probably worried." He stated, his eyes going cold. I basically dragged my body home, if only he understood.
"Alright, I'll see you later Tokomi." He waved and walked back towards his home.
"Mother! Have you heard the news?" I asked as I slowly took off my boots.
"I just hope she'll be alright when she grows up." She continued to clean the dishes, I could tell she was a little worried. I guess some people aren't worried after all. I continued to walk towards my bedroom, quickly changing into comfortable clothing. I fell on my bed and sighed.
"Pshht" I heard a whisper from my window. I lazily looked up to se Ri staring down at me.
"What do you want?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
"I forgot to ask, if she ever wants to learn something, can you please help her? I just found out I'll be apart of the ANBU and wont be able to do it myself." I frowned and pouted.
"Ugh, Why me? I'm not half as strong as you are."
"Simple, you are good at teaching while I'm horrible. Besides, I feel like if she learns medical ninjutsu she will become more confident in her abilities."
"Shes not even grown yet, how-"
"Its hypothetical. Besides she should learn it either way." I got up, shoved his face out of my window and aggressively slammed it.
"I'm trying to sleep." I muttered as I developed a headache. Gawh, let my guard down and his energy just completely tears me apart. But still, I cant shake this uneasy feeling. Emiko... That idiot didnt realize that having a female in the wang family is rare. Our clan is similar to the Uchihas. I'm exceptional since I'm adopted.
"Thats right... I don't even know who my real parents are." I took a deep breath and turned to my side letting it out. I smiled, She definitely will be a pretty girl.
