They stood in the boat waiting for John B to come back up and they hear sirens coming from behind then and Kirra lets out an exhausted sigh and her tired blue eyes trailed over to the police boat
"Shit. JJ" Pope says and pope Kie and JJ also turn their bodies toward the police boat
"Guys that the police" JJ says and tightens his grip slightly on the girl
"Oh you got to be kidding me" Pope sighs angrily and with worry
"Just act fricken normal" Kie says and Kirra quickly looks around for her shirt and reaches over to grab it and put it on to cover the bruises on her body which she just likes to tell her friends that she got from her usual hobbies like skateboarding and motor cross riddling and surfing. But it was different infront of the police after all, the police new all about the Raken family and what happens between the alcoholic father and the reckless daughter.
The police pull up nexf to the HMS Pogue
"Evening officers" they all say to the cops and act normal
"Evening" one of the officers replies then hands o ear a rope to attach the two boats together "here you go"
"JJ tie it up" Pope says and JJ reluctantly unwraps his arms from the girl and grabs the rope and begins tying it to their boat
"How are you kids doing you know that the marsh is closed" the deputy says
Kirra puts a fake surprised look on her face and steps forward toward the officers
"No air we didn't know that we just figured that after the storm the crabs and stuff would have washed up here" Kirra says innocently
"I didn't know that" JJ says quickly
"W w why is it closed" Pope asks and Kirra gives him a quick look to tell him that he was being super obvious
"Well we're conducting a search out here. A boat went down" the deputy says and the pogues pretend to play dumb even though each of them new that they were sitting over the missing boat at that very moment and there was a possibility that John B could come up and give them all away.
"Have you guys seen anything" the deputy asks
"Nope" JJ says
"No. No boats out here" Pope says
"Nothing" Kie chimes in
"Nudda" Kirra says and shakes her head as she looks at the officer
"Where's your friend that you always hang with. Is he here" The south asks and looks around at all of the pogues With a questioning look on his face
"He's working" Kie makes up quickly and the officers give her an unbelieving look
"I'm gonna check your little boat out" the deputy says and jumps onto the HMS pogue
"Yeah yeah of course" JJ says and the officer jumps onto the HMS pogue and begins to look around the boat while JJ holds onto Kirra tightly as his worried eyes tailed after the officer
"You wanna check uh check her out" Pope asks referring to the boat and he stutters
"Thank you" the officer says quickly and continues to look around the boat
Kirra nervously looked over the side of the boat to where John B was. If he came up and the officer saw him they would all be screwed
The officer grabs out the life jacket and asks JJ "you uhh you got another one of these"
