They finally had made it back to John Bs place and jumped out of the boat and placed the bag on the ground excitedly
"What do you guys think it is" Kie asks all of them
"Gotta be money right" John B says
"Or drugs" Kirra adds and shrugs her shoulders
"That or a couple of keys with street value to the low to mid mils" JJ says with a giant grin
"Can we please just open the bag" Pope exclaims and everyone grins and looks up at pope in surprise at his sudden out burst
"Wow pope" John B laughs "that's a rare outburst of emotion"
"Someone's excited" Kirra laughs
"Okay. You guys are literally killing me with anticipation" Pope says and tries to defend himself
"No need to get defensive Pope" Kirra grins "come on Johnny open the bag"
"We almost died over this and Kirra got shot over this" Pope says
"It's nothing man I'm fine" Kirra says and pats pope on the shoulder and John b opens the bag and pulls out a thermos
"Someone liked their coffee" Kirra mumbles and they all wait in anticipation for John B to pull whatever was in there out of it.
John B tips it upside down and a compass falls into his hand and he throws the metal thermos on the ground and stared at the compass
"Oh wow yep. That's about right" Pope mumbles "good job everybody we found a compass"
The pogues look around In disappointment except John B who was still staring at the compass
"Dude what. It's not worth anything" JJ asks annoyed over the fact that Kirra got shot and all they found was a compass
John B smiles "this was my fathers" he chuckles slightly and Kirra walks up to him and places her hand on his shoulder with a smile to comfort him
"Alright let's get back to we can stitch up your arm" JJ says quickly and kisses Kirra on the cheek quickly
Kirra looks at the stitches on her arm that Kie had finished giving her and smirked "wicked"
"Come on babe let's get outta here. My dad isn't home tonight he's working a night shift so you can stay with me" JJ says and grabs the girls hand and they say bye to everyone and then get on JJs motorcycle and ride back to his house
JJ lead her up to the door and all of the lights were off so he pushed open the door and flicked the light switches on
"Dad?" JJ calls out just in case there was a change in his dads schedule. There was no reply so they walked in and shut the door behind them and went straight to JJs room and shut the door
"Does it hurt" JJ whispers and looks at the gunshot wound
"A bit. Nothing I can't handle though" Kirra mumbles and walks up to him and wraps her arms around his neck and his arms go around her waist and they both embrace each other in the middle of his room and enjoy the silence as he slowly swung them side to side Kirra and JJ stare up into each other's eyes loveingly then she sighs and rest her head on his chest
"You know I'm always here for you right" JJ asks and Kirra looks up at him with a soft smile
"Yeah I know. And I'm here for you too. Always" she mumbles and he leans down and places a soft kiss on her delicate lips and then picks her up and walks her over to his bed and places her on it and she takes her shorts off and he takes of his shirt and he gets in next to her and pulls the blanket over both of their bodies and they both lay facing each other with their legs tangled together and arms around each other and their forehead presses against each other.
"I promise to protect you with my life" JJ mumbles
"JJ..." she whispers but he cuts her off with a kiss
She pulls away slightly "JJ I don't want you to do something that could get you hurt and besides. Have you seen how clumsy i am. If someone in the group gets hurt it's generally me" Kirra says with a chuckle and he laughs too
"Just go to sleep princess" JJ mumbles and she shakes her head and let's out a yawn
"I'm not tired though" she mumbles and he knew that she was scared to sleep cause that's when she was most vulnerable. That's the main times her dad chose to hurt her
"It's okay. I won't let anyone hurt you" he says and runs his hand through her hair and then places it in her cheek "I promise you baby. Just go to sleep. I'm gonna keep you safe"
Her eyes closed and shortly after soft snores began to escape the small girls lips and JJ smiled as he looked down at her and held her closer to him
"I'm gonna get us out of here one day. And I'm gonna give you everything you want because it's what you deserve" he mumbles and then closes his eyes
