A Very Valdez Wedding

I rushed around, tying up Cast's bowtie, buttoning up Ethan's vest and trying pack up an entertainment bag for the boys. Yes, even Percy. We raced through the woods as quickly as we could and slipped into the Big House. I handed Ethan to Percy and gave their entertainment bag. For a twenty one year old dad, he still acted like the childish Seaweed Brain he was and I loved him for it. With a quick kiss to Percy and the boys, I walked into the girl's dressing room and collapsed on the floor with relief.  Piper gave me an awkward hug and did my hair and makeup. "Annabeth, why didn't you stay the night? You look exhausted. I can't have that at my wedding." Calypso joked. She was tying up Piper's dress. Piper was ribbing her 5 month pregnant belly. She and Jason had found out they were expecting another baby a week after Ethan was born. A girl at that. I envied her for it. She was super lucky. Her mom was Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. It would always be easy for her to have a baby because love went hand in hand with children and marriage. In other words, she would easily get what she wanted when praying to Hera. I sighed. I wanted a girl sooo badly but it was going to be a while until I was ready for another baby. I pulled on my dress and stuck the brooch that the Zhangs gave me in my hair. It wasn't my wedding but Hazel had told me I could wear it whenever I wanted by simply removing the veil. I thought of Grover and Juniper. They had a boy and from the looks of it, Juniper wanted a nymph baby. So they might get a girl. As for Leo and Calypso, well, they didn't have much luck with their baby girl. Somehow I knew deep down that they would try again, much, much later. Maybe... No. I shook the thought from my head. If we had a girl, would we have a miscarriage like Cal and Leo? But even with the trouble that I've had with Hera, she took Percy from me and that was enough for me. We had rehearsal yesterday morning and it was very emotional for Calypso. She cried a little bit and Leo was just there looking sad and uncomfortable. He tried cracking some jokes but it didn't really do anything except make us more depressed. I grabbed my bouquet and stood by the door behind Calypso.  The posse of boys passed by the door, joking with us and cat calling at us. It was wedding tradition I guess. We snuck out the Big House door and hid behind the columns  of the pavilion. The music started and Calypso started down the aisle, years quietly streaming down her face. When Leo saw her He broke down in tears.  It was odd for  Leo to be like this so when he for this way, you know that when he got this way, he was really happy. We got to the altar and I stood next to Percy. I glanced down to the front row where Poseidon and Athena were sitting next to each other, Ethan on Mother's lap and Cast on Poseidon's lap. Cast waved at me and smiled. I gave him a small wave back. Chiron said the vows and Cal and Leo accepted them. Leo pulled Calypso in for a kiss and I could see the weight they had taken when they lost Zoë disappear they pulled away and Calypso's smile was one that I thought I would never see again.

We went into the pavilion and started the party. Leo gave Calypso the Ogygia astrolabe and explained that he found out they would be able to stay on Ogygia for their honeymoon as a gift from him and Hephaestus. She squealed and flung her arms around his neck. And they started their first dance. Cast, Emmi, and Lacy ran around eating cake and getting sick but no one did any thing about it. The Hazel, Calypso and I sat and drank wine.  Piper sat with us but drank sparkling cider instead of wine. We sat and warched the boys dance around and get waaaaaaay too drunk. Mr. D showed up only because of Calypso and smirked and said, "Well if it isn't Peter Johnson. Drunk out of his mind. Oh yes, you're going to get an extremely horrible hangover tomorrow. Oh hello Annie Bell." Percy staggered after Mr. D saying and giggling deliriously, "Wait, do you know my Dad? He's like a seahorse." I rolled my eyes as he went over to the water fountain and started flirting with it. I got up and grabbed Ethan and Cast. "Well, ladies, I think I need to get Percy and make sure he doesn't get married to the fountain." I grabbed his hand and dragged him away to the stables. I plopped Ethan and Cast on Blackjack, knowing he knew what to do with them. I got Percy onto Porkpie and we flew behind Blackjack. Percy sat behind me with his arms around my waist and had his head nestled in my neck and was whispering in my ear. He just kept on saying, "Seahorses. Seahorses." I shook my head at him and we went down for landing. When we got there, Percy went straight to the couch and passed out, snoring. I got Ethan and Cast into their pajamas. Cast brushed his teeth and I brushed Ethan's for him. They got into their beds and I read them Jack and the Beanstalk. Cast said that he wanted to be Jack when he grew up and I laughed. I gave them both a kiss and turned out the lights.  I went into the bathroom, showered and brushed my teeth and then put on my pajamas. I wandered into the kitchen and got a glass of water. I heard Percy snoring and went in to check on him. His tie had slipped off His neck and onto the floor. I chuckled and wrapped my arms around him and grabbed a blanket to cover us. I dozed off to the sound of Percy snoring and drooling in my hair.
