Chapter 11 - Unconscious

"You crazy little listener..." Hizashi walked into the hospital room where the red-haired girl was lying. Much of the girl's body was bandaged, as well, half of her face, and there were needles in both arms of the girl, bringing serum to her body. Hizashi had heard that the girl fought that monster alone, and he was relieved that she was still alive. That thing almost killed Aizawa and All Might, he would as well have killed that small girl too.

Hizashi sighs and sits down in the chair he left beside the bed. It had been two days since the attack, and she didn't wake up. Aizawa was already practically well, but still all wrapped up too. But he was clearly in a far worse state than that girl, so why...

"Why don't you wake up..." he puts his shaking hand in the girl's small and cold hand. He was so worried about her, what if she didn't wake up anymore? What if he didn't have a chance to see that smile again? Or to see those bright eyes, and hear that soft voice when he took her to sing in karaoke? No... she had to wake up, she was so young, she still had so much to live... this couldn't be the end.

Aizawa had explained to him that sometimes when she used her quirk, she had nightmares and couldn't wake up until they were completely done, but she was in a coma for two days. Two days! And Aizawa said that sometimes she screamed or moved, but she was doing nothing, no muscle moved, no words left her mouth, just... nothing... Hizashi was almost panicking, while Aizawa remained calm, for the time being. Aizawa knew that no matter how bad the girl's nightmare was, she always woke up. He believed that she would be fine... she had to be fine. He blamed himself for the fact that the girl was like that. She had warned him about the danger, but he ignored it and said it was just pessimism? What kind of guardian ignores such a warning? He still didn't find the courage to visit the girl, he didn't want to see her condition. He didn't want to feel even more guilty. Just from hearing Hizashi talking about what her doctors said about her condition, Aizawa felt a very deep pain in his chest.

The doctors had said that she would be fine and would recover completely, but they were not entirely sure why she wasn't waking up. They thought it had something to do with the girl's brain or her nerves, because of the blows Nomu gave her, and the way he almost squeezed her head. So they hired a specialized neurologist to treat the girl. Aizawa was worried about all that money, I mean, he isn't rich or anything, and maybe he wouldn't have all the money he needed to pay for her treatment, but the doctors said they would cover everything and he didn't have to worry. They were being really nice, and Aizawa really appreciated it.

"You must be Mister Yamada." Hizashi hears someone entering the room.

"Y-Yeah...?" he replies a little confused, looking at the doctor in front of him. He had dark, messy purple hair and big dark circles under his tired eyes like he hasn't slept for days.

"I heard that you would be here today and I thought I could ask you a few questions about her." he says with a tired voice and points to the girl. "Ah, sorry, how rude of me. I'm Hajime Shinso, Mizuki's doctor. It's nice to meet you, sir."

"Nice to meet you too." Hizashi smiles slightly. "I don't think I know much about her, but I will try to answer your questions as I can."

"I really appreciate it." he says and pulls out a chair and sits in front of the blonde. "I heard that her quirk may be the reason she's still sleeping. Could you tell me what her quirk is and how it works? It would be of great help in our research, and a great help for her..."

"Sure..." Hizashi stayed silent for a little while to think. "Aizawa said he calls her quirk NightMare. She can basically turn herself into the fears, phobias and nightmares of the people she saw that day, but it takes a lot of energy from her. She can transform just a part of her body if she wants to as well, and it doesn't require so much energy. But in the attack I was told that she transformed herself into that thing..."
